Abstract: For updating a computer vision model, a method converts a user input drawing including a user annotation of a first image in a drawing format to a training format image in a training format for a computer vision model. The method generates a training-representation drawing from the training format image. The training-representation drawing includes an image inference for the first image. The method receives user feedback for the training-representation drawing in the drawing format. The method updates the computer vision model based on the user feedback. The method generates an image inference for a second image based on the updated computer vision model and generates model-health metrics, agreement-metrics, and a sortable image index to explain image inferences with respect to guided user annotation of the second image. The method caches partial results from the image-inferences to afford quicker updating of computer vision models, affording more iterative model-development than ad-hoc model-evaluation.

Abstract: A motion control system for an independent cart system provides for an improved system for controlling operation of movers in areas of high traffic. A controller monitors operation of the movers to detect heavy traffic. In heavy traffic, the controller may bring a mover to a stop to avoid collisions. Once a mover is stopped, the segment controller will look at the present location of the mover and determine whether it is at the desired position set in the motion command. If the mover is not at the desired position, the stop was a result of heavy traffic. After detecting heavy traffic, the controller commands the mover to resume travel using a modified motion command. The modified motion command will command the first mover to its desired position but will command the move at a reduced rate or using a reduced response in the controller.

Abstract: An industrial integrated development environment (IDE) supports collaborative tools that allow multiple designers and programmers to remotely submit design input to the same automation system project in parallel while maintaining project consistency. The industrial IDE also permits localized development of system projects, and provides an infrastructure for sharing and selectively synchronizing project edits among multiple locally stored versions of the system project.

Abstract: An industrial Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) system and method for connecting devices within an industrial automation system is provided. The industrial SPE system comprises a trunkline formed by a series of trunk cables, where each trunk cable includes a power pair and an SPE pair, and one or more taps connected between the trunk cables of the trunkline. The industrial SPE system further comprises a drop line connected to each of the one or more taps, and a device connected to each of one or more taps via the drop lines. The device is an actuator or a sensor, and at least one of the device and the one or more taps includes a dual-port SPE switch.

Abstract: A system includes a relay system and a controller. The relay system includes a plurality of relays, each having a first contact on an input side of the respective relay, the input side coupled to a power source, a second contact on a load side of the respective relay coupled to a load, and a spanner configured to close the first and second contacts of the respective relay when activated by a close signal. The load sides of each of the respective relays are coupled through their respective loads. The controller is configured to measure a voltage between a spanner of a first relay and an input side of a second relay. Based on the voltage between the spanner of the first relay and the input side of the second relay, the controller determines whether an electrical weld of one of the contacts of the first relay exists.

Abstract: In certain embodiments, a method includes formulating an optimization problem to determine a plurality of model parameters of a system to be modeled. The method also includes solving the optimization problem to define an empirical model of the system. The method further includes training the empirical model using training data. The empirical model is constrained via general constraints relating to first-principles information and process knowledge of the system.

Abstract: A non-transitory tangible, computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by processing circuitry, cause the processing circuitry to perform operations including receiving data associated with industrial equipment, pre-processing the data using pre-processing files associated with a modeling technique to generate pre-processed data, generating training dataset files based on the pre-processed data, and generating a model representative of expected operations of the industrial equipment based on the training dataset files. The instructions cause the processing circuitry to perform operations including storing an association between the training dataset files with the modeling technique, the industrial equipment, or both in a database, receiving a request to generate an additional model representative of additional expected operations of additional industrial equipment, receiving additional data associated with the additional industrial equipment, retrieving the training dataset files based on the additional data, and generating the additional model based on the training dataset files and the additional data.

Abstract: A non-transitory tangible, computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed by processing circuitry, cause the processing circuitry to perform operations including receiving a set of data associated with industrial devices of an industrial system, and retrieving pre-processing files and training datasets files associated with the industrial devices from a database, wherein the pre-processing files are configured to transform the data for generating a model representative of the industrial devices, and wherein the training dataset files are representative of operational characteristics of the industrial devices over time. The instructions cause the processing circuitry to perform operations including generating a set of prediction data representative of expected operations of the industrial devices based on the set of data and the model, determining commands for adjusting operational settings of the industrial devices based on the set of prediction data, and sending the commands to the industrial devices.
