Abstract:
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a movable head with nozzles that eject a liquid; a transport unit that transports a medium in a transporting direction; and a sensor that detects an edge of the medium and that is movable with the head. Ejection of liquid from the nozzles is controlled based on the sensor detection result. The transport roller transports the medium in a slanted manner toward a surface of a platen, and after the medium's front edge contacts the platen, the medium bends on the platen with the front edge of the medium moving along the surface of the platen toward a paper discharge roller. Relative to the transporting direction, the sensor is positioned upstream of the most upstream nozzle and downstream of a position at which the front edge of the medium first comes into contact with the platen.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a liquid ejecting apparatus including: a movable head provided with a plurality of nozzles for ejecting a liquid; a carry unit for carrying a medium in a predetermined carrying direction; and a sensor for detecting an edge of the medium, the liquid ejecting apparatus controlling ejection of the liquid from the plurality of nozzles in accordance with a result of the detection of the sensor. In this liquid ejecting apparatus, the position, in the carrying direction, of the sensor is at the same position of or on an upstream side of a nozzle located most upstream in the carrying direction, of among the plurality of nozzles. In this way, it is possible to arrange the sensor for detecting the edge of the paper at the most suitable position, and to suppress waste of ink that is ejected from the nozzles.
Abstract:
A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a record head having nozzles that discharge liquid; a transporting path along which a medium is transported; a transporting mechanism that transports the medium along the transporting path; a sensor including a light-emitting element and a light-receiving element and disposed at a first position on the transporting path, the first position being located upstream relative to the record head in a transporting direction of the medium, the sensor outputting a signal in accordance with presence or absence of the medium at the first position; and a control unit that controls supply of power to the sensor and detects the presence or absence of the medium through the sensor. The control unit stops the supply of power to the sensor when the control unit detects a downstream end of the medium in the transporting direction, and resumes the supply of power to the sensor when the control unit detects an upstream end of the medium in the transporting direction.
Abstract:
A medium transport apparatus including a medium detection sensor having a light-emitting unit and a light-receiving unit that are arranged apart from each other by a predetermined distance, and that changes the signal level of a detection signal output from the light-receiving unit according to the presence/non-presence of a medium between the light-emitting unit and the light-receiving unit, and a medium guide member that is arranged in the middle of a transport path for the medium to guide the medium, and that has a medium guide face for guiding the medium, and a sensor attachment so that the medium guide face may be arranged at a position closer to either the light-emitting unit or the light-receiving unit.
Abstract:
A scale is provided with a plurality of marks or slits arranged in a first direction such that a distance between centers of adjacent marks or slits in the first direction assumes a first length. An encoder is opposing the scale and includes: a photo emitter, operable to emit light; and a plurality of photo detectors, each of which has a light receiving region adapted to receive the light emitted from the photo emitter and transmitted by way of the marks or slits, and is operable to output a detection signal in accordance with a quantity of the light received by the light receiving region, so that the detection signal has a first cycle corresponding to the first length. A control signal generator is operable to generate a control signal having a second cycle which is (½n1) of the first cycle. A controller is operable to estimate a rotation speed of a motor based on a third cycle which is defined by subsequent (2n1) second cycles. Here, n1 is an integer no less than one.
Abstract:
A pump member is cyclically moved to apply an air pressure to a liquid supply source to thereby supply liquid stored therein to a reservoir member. A driving source is driven in accordance with control information to move the pump member. A position sensor senses a position of the pump member. A first storage stores target information indicative of a target driving speed of the driving source. A first calculator obtains drive information indicative of an actual driving speed of the driving source based on the sensed position of the pump member. A second calculator obtains a difference between the target driving speed and the actual driving speed, and obtains correction information for reducing the difference. A corrector corrects the control information with the correction information.
Abstract:
A pump control mechanism includes a pump unit for feeding liquid to container, a position detector for detecting the position in the reciprocating motion of the pump member, a control table having control information of many time zone sections, an information memory for storing target information corresponding to a target driving speed, a driving information calculator for calculating driving information of a motor on the basis of the reciprocating position detection, a correcting information calculator for calculating correction information for reducing the difference between the driving information and the target information, and a corrector for correcting the control table. The control table has individual control information for each of time zone sections for increasing/reducing the driving force in accordance with the magnitude of the load of the motor, and a control information increasing section for locally increasing the driving force in connection with a case where a large load locally acts on the motor exists in the control table.
Abstract:
A light emitter is operable to emit light. A scale comprises a transparent main body and a plurality of marks. The transparent main body has a first face and the second face which is opposite to the first face. The plurality of marks is provided on at least one of the first face and the second face and formed at a predetermined interval, and adapted to reflect or intercept the light emitted from the light emitter. A light detector is operable to detect light reflected by the marks or light passing through a plurality of regions each of which is defined between adjacent ones of the marks. The main body of the scale is formed with a plurality of through holes each of which connects the first face and the second face at one of the regions.
Abstract:
A fuel cell system and method of controlling a fuel cell system capable of preventing deterioration in performance when the system reinitiates a normal operation from an idle stop state. For a predetermined time after reinitiating the supply of fuel gas and oxidant gas from the idle stop state, discharge of off-gas occurs and the cessation of fuel gas and oxidant gas supply is prohibited.
Abstract:
A liquid ejection head is operable to eject a liquid droplet toward a target position. A transporter transports a first target medium toward the target position in a first direction. A guide member has a guide face along which a tray member on which a second target medium is mounted is fed toward the target position in a second direction which is opposite to the first direction. The guide member is pivotable between a first position for closing the guide face and a second position for opening the guide face to support the tray member. A first sensor detects that the guide member is placed in either one of the first position and the second position. A controller disables the transporter from transporting the first target medium when the first sensor detects that the guide member is placed in the second position.
