    摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for removing closures from containers that are assembled in cases which are moved seriatum into position below multiple spindles arranged with respect to the container positions in the case. Each spindle has a non-rotatable internally threaded nut with a freely rotatable externally threaded screw therethrough, and a head unit for gripping a closure on the container. Axial displacement of the multiple spindles with respect to the containers causes the head unit of each spindle to grip a container only by its closure, if it has one thereon. Axial displacement of the screw with respect to the nut rotates the screw with sufficient torque to break any bond or seal securing the closure without need of holding the container to prevent its rotation.

    摘要: A load control system is disclosed for preventing the uncontrolled lowering of a load should a line failure occur in a hydraulic system. The system is designed to be used with a hydraulic cylinder having a movable piston therein which divides the cylinder into a head end and a rod end. Attached to the piston and extending out of the hydraulic cylinder is a piston rod which has a load secured to its free end. The load control system includes a source of pressurized fluid, the flow of which is selectively controlled to the hydraulic cylinder by a control valve. Positioned between the control valve and the head and rod ends of the hydraulic cylinder, respectively, are first and second valves each of which is normally biased towards a closed position by a common pressure. The first and second valves are urged toward an open position by fluid pressure taken between the control valve and the first valve and are movable by this fluid pressure in a proportional manner with the second valve being opened first. The second valve is also physically mounted directly to the hydraulic cylinder such that if a line breakage occurs, the load will still be unable to drop.

    摘要: This invention relates to a flow check prevention mechanism especially useful in a female coupler for preventing closure of a male coupler coupled thereto should a vacuum occur in the female coupler when fluid flow out of the female coupler is momentarily blocked. The female coupler includes a housing having a bore formed therein with a receptacle movably positioned within the bore. The receptacle contains a main cavity which is connected by a passageway to an engagement bore. The engagement bore receives the male coupler. Located within the receptacle is a main poppet valve which controls the fluid flow through the passageway and a secondary poppet valve which relieves fluid pressure from the main cavity through an outlet port. The female coupler also includes a movable piston which assists in moving the main valve against excessive pressure which may be contained within the male coupler and a collar member which limits the travel of the main valve. The female coupler further includes a flow check prevention valve positioned within the main cavity which assures that the pressure impinging on the piston will be equal to or greater than the pressure present in the remainder of the main cavity. The flow check prevention valve functions to insure that the passageway between the male and female couplers remain open when fluid flow out of the female coupler is blocked by a directional control valve and when a vacuum occurs within the main cavity due to displacement of fluid within the hydraulic function. The female coupler also includes a lever mechanism to assist in the coupling and uncoupling process.
