Abstract:
A central health data repository stores health data from various data providers and provides data to various data consumers. The data hub is a standardized central repository that conforms to various standards, such as Health Level Seven (HL7). The data is received according to the HL7 specification and is transmitted to the various data providers using HL7. The data may also be transmitted as a continuous data feed. In this manner, a large volume of health data may be collected, stored, and disseminated using the data hub as a standardized service. A computer system includes one or more processors, an output network interface and an input network interface, a memory for storing multiple personal health records having fields for storing data in a proprietary format or in a standard format. The memory may also include an HL7 translation module and a data insertion/retrieval code module, wherein the computer system performs as a standardized health data repository for various entities in the healthcare industry.
Abstract:
A seat belt device for adjusting the tension of a seat belt webbing drawn across a user's body when the seat belt is in a latched condition, the seat belt device comprising: a housing defining a receiving area configured to slidably receive the seat belt webbing therethrough; a clamp member slidably mounted to the housing, the clamp member being configured for movement between a first position and a second position, wherein a clamping surface of the clamp member urges a portion of the seat belt webbing against an engagement portion of the housing when the clamp member is in the first position, the engagement portion being included in the receiving area; and a biasing member being configured to urge the clamp surface toward the engagement portion.
Abstract:
An acceleration sensor assembly for a restraint retractor of a seat restraint system in a vehicle includes an acceleration sprocket operatively connected to the restraint retractor. The acceleration sensor assembly also includes an acceleration pawl cooperating with the acceleration sprocket to operatively cause lock up of the restraint retractor. The acceleration sensor assembly includes an inertia member cooperating with the acceleration pawl to move the acceleration pawl when an acceleration force is present and a gimbal to support the inertia member. The acceleration sensor assembly further includes a non-contact damping mechanism cooperating with the gimbal to dampen movement of the gimbal until the acceleration force exceeds a predetermined value and the inertia member actuates the acceleration pawl to engage the acceleration sprocket to operatively cause lock up of the restraint retractor and prevent unwinding of a belt from the restraint retractor.
Abstract:
A self-sampling apparatus for collection of a cellular sample, particularly a vaginal sample for detection of human papillomavirus and its use is disclosed. The apparatus has an evacuated sample container closed by a puncturable seal and a fluid sample chamber in fluid communication with the evacuated container via a needle assembly. A fluid sample is drawn into the evacuated sample container upon establishing fluid communication between the fluid sample chamber and the evacuated container.
Abstract:
An annular safety valve sealing package that is suitable for use in the presence of an acid gas and that is capable of retaining its material properties when the annular safety valve is retrieved is provided. The annular safety valve sealing package includes an annular safety valve having a tubular housing, a first annular sealing element including a first elastomeric material and disposed about the tubular housing, a second annular sealing element including a second elastomeric material and disposed about the tubular housing, and a third annular sealing element including a third elastomeric material and disposed about the tubular housing on an opposite side of the second annular sealing element from the first annular sealing element. At least two of the first elastomeric material, the second elastomeric material, or the third elastomeric material have different compositions.
Abstract:
A method implementable in at least one electronic device coupled to a network and a display device, includes receiving, over the network, a data set, receiving, from a user, a selection of a first topic, determining, based on the data set, a plurality of network sites hosting commentary of the first topic and an authority level of each site of the plurality, determining, based on the data set, an authority level of each site of the plurality, determining, based on the data set, a plurality of authors providing the commentary hosted by the plurality of network sites, determining, based on the data set, an authority level of each author of the plurality, determining, based on the data set, a value characterizing an opinion of each author on the first topic.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for monitoring consumer generated media are disclosed herein. Consumer generated media (CGM) is discovered using a plurality of keywords from a set of keywords configured to return consumer generated media embedded in a digital location. CGM is collected from a plurality of sources using a plurality of robots configured to collect media from the discovered CGM. CGM is normalized for statistical analysis. CGM is tested for conceptual relevance to the predetermined topic using the series of keywords. Sentiment is determined of the collected consumer generated media based on the semantics of the language in the collected CGM. A graphical user interface is generated having collected consumer generated media and statistical information related to at least one of the conceptual relevance and the determined sentiment. The graphical user interface is displayed and a reply is enabled to at least one of the collected consumer generated media, displayed within the graphical user interface, such that when selected a reply is posted to the source of the CGM.
Abstract:
In at least one implementation, a variable volume airbag includes an inflatable cushion and a tether coupled to the cushion. The inflatable cushion defines an inner volume in which a gas is received to inflate the cushion longitudinally and laterally within a passenger compartment of a vehicle, and has laterally opposed side surfaces defining part of the inner volume of the cushion. The tether is coupled to each of the side surfaces of the cushion and has a first state wherein the tether limits lateral separation of the side surfaces and a second state wherein increased separation of the side surfaces is permitted as compared to the first state.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for partitioning a graph database that includes nodes connected to one another is presented. The method entails determining a node type indicating a type of node that is to be used as mapped nodes, and upon receiving a new node, placing the new node in a partition according to one or more property values associated with the new node if it is a mapped node, and placing the new node in a partition according to its connections to other nodes if it is not a mapped node. The apparatus includes modules containing computer-executable instructions to perform the above method.
