Abstract: An integrated well construction system for constructing a well includes equipment controllers which control drilling equipment, and a process controller operatively connected to the equipment controllers. The process controller includes a drilling control module which defines an operational drilling scheme and a task manager module. The operational drilling scheme has a first part to control the drilling equipment, a second part with manual tasks and/or automated tasks to be performed, and a relation between an execution of control of the drilling equipment via the first plan and of manual tasks and/or the automated tasks via the second plan. The task manager module has a user interface, a task refinement component which updates the second part, and a user interaction device which provides a manual addition of new manual tasks and/or new automated tasks, and a removal or amendment of at least one of the manual tasks and/or the automated tasks.

Abstract: A method for controlling drilling operations includes defining operation zones in a drilling operation area, each operation zone having equipment operating therein, and repeatedly performing the steps of: determining a position of at least one person in the drilling operation area, determining whether the respective determined position is within any of the operation zones and associating each person to the operation zone in which the person is located, determining whether the respective determined position is within a safety zone in proximity to the equipment, determining at least one action to be performed with regard to each operation zone in which the person has been determined to be present, and transmitting at least one control signal for controlling the drilling operations based on the at least one action determined. The at least one action is determined dependent on whether or not the position of the person is in the safety zone.

Abstract: A gate valve for controlling a flow of a fluid. The gate valve includes a valve body with a first seat pocket and a flow bore, a gate which is movable so as to intersect the flow bore, a seat with a gate end and a body end, a plate with an opening which is positionable on the seat at the gate end, and a plate retainer which is positionable between the seat and the plate so as to prevent an axial movement between the seat and the plate with respect to an axis of the flow bore. The flow bore extends through the valve body for the flow of the fluid. The gate end is arranged to face the gate, and the body end is positionable within the first seat pocket of the valve body.

Abstract: A device for suspending a tubular from a floating vessel includes a first element which carries the tubular, a second element supported by the floating vessel, and a compression element which forms a connection between the first element and the second element. The compression element is pre-tensioned in an end stroke position so that, when the compression element is subjected to a force from the tubular which is below a pre-defined threshold force, the connection formed by the compression element between the first and second element is a rigid connection, and, when the compression element is subject to a force from the tubular which is higher than the pre-defined threshold force, the connection formed by the compression element between the first and second element is a compressible connection.
