摘要: A hydraulic valve having a body defining an inlet and an outlet. A motor is supported by the body and operates a shaft extending through an interior of the body, the shaft terminating in a gate. A spring is supported within the housing and influences the gate in an open position to permit fluid flow between the inlet and outlet. Upon the occurrence of a pressure differential resulting from a fluid flow through the inlet exceeding a biasing force of the spring, the gate is caused to displace against a valve seat communicating the inlet with the outlet in order to interrupt fluid flow in a standby mode and to define a closed position. The motor operates in a further throttling mode to linearly and incrementally displace the gate between the open and closed positions said outlet and in order to adjust flow through the outlet.

摘要: An apparatus for supporting a flywheel on a floating vessel includes a support for the flywheel; and a tilt sensor for measuring an angle of slope relative to the Earth, the tilt sensor being arranged to detect a change of an angle of slope of the floating vessel relative to the Earth. The apparatus further includes a driver for manoeuvring the support relative to the floating vessel, based on the measured angle of slope from the tilt sensor, wherein the driver is operable to manoeuvre the support so as to counteract a change of an angle of slope of the flywheel relative to the Earth due to the detected change of an angle of slope of the floating vessel.

摘要: An improved flexible joint elastomer protection tool is described, which can be actuated and removed by a remote operated vehicle (“ROV”), the tool having pivot arms that can be rotated from a closed position to an open position. Rotation inward to the closed position results in the compression of the elastomeric component in an offshore flexible joint. Rotation outward to the open position results in the de-compression of the elastomeric component in an offshore flexible joint. Rotation of the arms can be accomplished using mechanical, hydraulic or other mechanisms that can be operated by an ROV.

摘要: Flexible riser hang-off for rigid risers deployed offshore is provided and called a spoolflex hang-off. The spoolflex hang-off utilizes combined torsional and bending flexibilities of a rigid tubular jumper deployed between a top of the riser and a floater piping. The rigid jumper transports fluids, contains the fluid pressure and accommodates angular deflections of the riser. The riser top is suspended from a pivoting arrangement that transfers the riser tension to the floater structure. The rigid jumper can be made of titanium or of other metallic or nonmetallic materials.The flexible riser hang-off provided has rotational stiffness independent on riser tension. Low static and fatigue bending loads on the riser and on the floater structure result. The hang-off allows large riser deflection angles.

摘要: An enhanced riser control system may employ electrical tensioners coupled to a drilling riser by wires. The electrical tensioners may provide quick response to a tension controller to handle positioning of the drilling riser. The electrical tensioners of the enhanced riser control system may be combined with hydro-pneumatic tensioners in a riser hybrid tensioning system. A controller within the enhanced riser control system may be configured to distribute tension to electrical tensioners and to control electrical tensioners to adjust the length of the first and second wires. Energy from an electrical tensioner may be transferred to an energy storage system or to power dissipaters for dissipating the energy generated by the electrical tensioner. The energy transferred from an electrical tensioner may be energy that has been generated by the electrical tensioner.

摘要: A low inertia permanent magnet motor includes a stator and rotor. The rotor includes a generally tubular and hollow rotor body coupled to the shaft of the motor by one or more spokes and/or webs. The permanent magnets of the rotor are coupled to the rotor body. In some embodiments, the low inertia permanent magnet motor may be used to power a drawworks. In some embodiments, the drawworks may be controlled by an active heave compensation controller.
