Abstract:
A method of manufacturing flow selector disk for a fluid pressure regulator, including the steps of providing a plate having a first face and a second face, and forming at least one baseline orifice in the plate including a first diameter portion adjacent the first face and a second diameter portion adjacent the second face. The first and second diameter portions are spaced a distance from each other to form an annular ring therebetween. A central flow portion is formed through the baseline orifice that is in fluid communication with both of the first and second diameter portions. The central flow portion has a relatively smaller diameter than either of the first and second diameter portions. The method also includes the step of plastically deforming a portion of the annular ring adjacent the central flow portion to thereby reduce the diameter of the central flow portion.
Abstract:
A system and method of tracking location and orientation of power tools utilized in the assembly and maintenance of complex systems is disclosed. The system can facilitate collaboration between maintenance and alert maintenance personnel to complete complex system activities.
Abstract:
A nasal lavage device includes a source of saline solution, an effluent receptacle, and a nasal interface for engaging the nostrils of a user of the device. A fluid passageway is disposed to communicate the source of saline solution with the effluent receptacle through the nasal cavity of the user. The nasal interface and fluid passageways are included within a removable cartridge for communicating the saline relative to the nostrils in a first direction. A second cartridge can be inserted to communicate the flow in a second direction. The interface includes nasal pillows that form a seal against the user's nostrils.
Abstract:
A system generates an electronic image of a document for later retrieval through a network connection. The system uses a network accessible scanning device to enable scanning of a document to generate an electronic image thereof and an electronic repository to electronically store the electronic image. The electronic repository designates an electronic address for the stored electronic image and communicates the electronic address to the network accessible scanning device. The network accessible scanning device provides information to a user scanning the document. The information relates to the electronic repository designated address.
Abstract:
A VI production system and method for automatic review of variable imaging job output includes a VI interpreter includes raster image processing for producing electronic output document images based on a variable imaging job included in a VI job stream. A proofing process includes obtaining sample document images from the output document images, and for each obtained sample document image, performing a review procedure. The review procedure includes comparing the obtained sample document image to a corresponding expected document image selected from the expected database to determine differences between the obtained sample document image and the corresponding expected document image. Based on at least one difference being determined, the differences are resolved by displaying the obtained sample document image on the user interface, indicating in the displayed sample document image each of the differences, and performing a difference procedure based on an operator input.
Abstract:
One embodiment of the invention provides a method for integrating a plurality of computer applications. The method includes receiving from a requestor a request of a target application. The request includes data identifying a target application and a target application service requested by the requestor. An abstraction layer receives the request. The method further includes using a Profile Manager in communication with the abstraction layer to receive data identifying the target application, to select a sack (a portable container for the request, e.g., a serialized object) and to select which of a plurality of sack content providers (SCPs) to use to interface with an appropriate element given the target application. The plurality of SCPs are in communication with the abstraction layer. The plurality of SCPs interface with a plurality of elements including at least a first application and at least a first hub.
Abstract:
Time-correlation methods for determining pulse characteristics from a modelocked ultrafast laser include a cross-correlation method and an auto-correlation method. In the cross-correlation method, pulses from the laser and pulses from another modelocked laser are incident on a two-photon detector that responds when the pulses overlap in time. The lasers are synchronized to the same frequency and the phase difference between pulses from the two lasers is varied to vary the temporal pulse overlap while recording the detector response. Pulse characteristics are determined from recorded data representing the detector response as a function of phase difference. In the auto-correlation method, pulses from one laser are divided into two components. One component follows a fixed delay path before being temporally overlapped at the detector with another component that has not been delayed. The temporal overlap is varied by varying the pulse repetition frequency. Pulse characteristics are determined from recorded data representing the detector response as a function of phase difference.

Abstract:
A trailer safety chain assembly that is used in combination with a raised ball trailer hitch trailer coupling type of trailer attachment. The trailer safety chain is made up of two sets of chained strands that are linked between a center ring. The trailer safety chain is situated between a vehicle and trailer being transported and acts as an auxiliary trailer attachment in the event of trailer attachment failure. A mounting plate is provided on the vehicle, with a set of apertures provided that accommodate a set of inverted L-shaped hooks and a raised ball trailer hitch. The trailer safety chain is able to keep the end of a trailer tongue from touching the ground and can transport the trailer even in the event of complete trailer attachment failure.
