Abstract:
A notebook computer with detachable display unit is disclosed. The notebook computer includes a main body, a hinge, and a display unit. The hinge includes an electrical connector, an elastic element, a post, and a pivot shaft. The electrical connector is connected with the elastic element. The post is combined with the pivot shaft. The pivot shaft is assembled on the main body. The display unit defines an opening therein. The display unit includes an electrical connector, an opening, and a locking mechanism. The opening is configured for receiving the post. The electrical connectors of the hinge and the display unit are configured for engaging with each other. The locking mechanism is configured for locking or detaching the connection between the display unit and the main body. The elastic element can reduce the shock that the electrical connectors suffered when the display unit is connected or disconnected to the main unit.
Abstract:
The invention provides a USB storage device and an access control method thereof. An access control module is provided on the USB storage device. The storage space is divided into at least one data storage entity. Each user's access right to each data storage entity is set and stored in the USB storage device as an access control list. The process between the USB storage device's being connected with a USB host and its being disconnected from the USB host is one session. When a session is established, the user provides authentication information for the USB device to authenticate him/her, and saves the user information used in the current session. In the current session, when the host of the user issues an access request for the data storage entity on the USB storage device, the access control module queries the access right list based on the user information in the current session to determine whether the user has an access right to the requested data storage entity. When the user does not have the access right to the data storage entity, the access control module denies the user's access request for the data storage entity.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing nicotinic acid, which comprises directly subjecting a mixture of 3-methylpyridine, oxygen, and water to a vapor phase oxidation in the presence of a catalyst consisting of, as active ingredients, vanadium oxide (V2O5) and transition metal oxide both of which are supported on a carrier, to give the nicotinic acid, wherein crystal size of the active ingredients on the surface of the carrier is controlled in a range of from 40 to 200 nm through use of transition metal oxide. The present invention further relates to a catalyst used in the oxidation. In the method according to the present invention, the nicotinic acid can be obtained in a higher conversion and a higher selectivity. Therefore, the manufacturing cost can be reduced.
Abstract:
An electronic device and a pairing method including following steps are provided. A first touch operation performed on a first touch unit of a first electronic device is detected, and a first azimuth angle of a first pointing direction (defined by the first touch operation) with respect to a reference direction is obtained. The first azimuth angle is compared with a second azimuth angle to obtain an included angle between the first pointing direction and a second pointing direction. When a value obtained by subtracting 180 degrees from an absolute value of the included angle is smaller than a threshold, a pairing relationship is established between the first and second electronic devices. The second azimuth angle is an azimuth angle of the second pointing direction (defined by a second touch operation performed on a second touch unit of the second electronic device) with respect to the reference direction.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for providing scene data of a virtual world. One method includes the following steps: receiving a request for downloading the scene data from a content requesting party, where the request includes (i) information on an object group in the scene data and (ii) Level of Detail (LoD) information on an object in the object group, packing LoD content of the object in the object group based on the information on the object group and the LoD information on the object, and transmitting the packed LoD content corresponding to the object group to the content requesting party.
Abstract:
A Universal Serial Bus (USB) charging circuit for a computer includes a USB interface, a USB power terminal, a standby power terminal, a switch unit, a IC chip, and a control unit. The control unit disconnects the USB interface from the standby power terminal when receiving a high voltage level from the system power terminal or a first control signal from the IC chip. The control unit connects the standby power terminal supply to the USB interface when receiving a second control signal from the IC chip and the first switch signal from the switch unit; the control unit disconnects the standby power terminal supply from the USB interface when receiving a second control signal from the IC chip and the second switch signal from the switch unit.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for determining a trend in vertical track modulus are disclosed in accordance with embodiments of the present invention. Vertical deflection data is collected along a particular section of railroad track. A first set of vertical track modulus is determined, based in part, on the collected vertical deflection data. At a second time, vertical deflection data is again collected along the particular section of railroad track to be used in determining a second set of vertical track modulus. At least the first and second sets of vertical track modulus are analyzed to determine a mathematical algorithm that facilitates developing a trend in the vertical track modulus of the railroad track.
Abstract:
An automatic corner lift-off apparatus for a polarizer of a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel is disclosed, which is suitable for use in a process of removing a polarizer during manufacturing of an LCD panel and comprises: a front clip, comprising a long arm and a short arm which intersect with each other to substantially form an “L” shape; a back clip, spaced apart from the front clip and being capable of cooperating with the front clip to perform a clipping action; and at least one sensor disposed on the front clip or the back clip, being configured to sense whether the polarizer has been successfully lifted off. Thereby, the present disclosure allows for fully automatic polarizer removing operations and can reduce work-related injuries and improve the success ratio of and efficiency of removing the polarizer.
Abstract:
An illuminating device for a walking stick includes a main body having a through hole defined in a top thereof for adapting to receive a bottom of a walking stick, such that the main body adapts to position on the walking stick. A plurality of light source is mounted on the main body for emitting light. A light shade sleeves on the main body and encloses the light sources. The light shade allows light to pass through. A power supply is mounted in the main body and is electrically connected with the light sources. When the light sources are supplied with electricity provided by the power supply to emit light, light emitted by the light sources is transmitted through the light shade for providing an illuminating effect.
