According to the apparatus and method, since image information regarding a dashboard of a movable body is collected and a state of the movable body is sensed by analyzing the collected image information by means of image recognition technologies, the state of the movable body can be accurately sensed without an odometer and without a separate wire connection in the movable body. Further, when the apparatus and method are applied to a navigation system, more accurate position information and path guidance can be provided to users of the navigation system.

The exercise assistant system and method enables adjustment of the exercise amount and level according to the user's exercise achievement and physical variation during the exercise, such that it is possible to effectively assist the user's exercise. Also, in the exercise assistant system, the music files are selected automatically on the basis of the predetermined designated conditions making possible user enjoyment of the music in various sequences.

Provided are a method and a system for providing dance training by using a portable wireless terminal in communication with sensor-equipped shoes capable of sensing a user's foot motion. While the terminal executes a dance training program having step information, sensing modules embedded in the shoes sense a user's foot motion and transmits related data to the terminal through a short-distance wireless communication unit. Then the terminal compares the foot motion data with the step information and outputs comparison results by using a display unit and/or an audio unit.

The positioning system includes access points for transmitting downlink signals for mobile Internet communications, an access terminal for generating positioning information using the downlink signals received from the access points and access point information on the access points, and a position determination entity (PDE) for calculating range values between the access terminal and the access points using the positioning information from the access terminal and determining a position of the access terminal using the range values. Since the positioning system determines the position using the mobile Internet signal, an accurate terminal position can be determined even in such environments as downtown, shaded and indoor areas.

Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for measuring the speed of a moving body using an accelerometer. A value of earth's gravitational acceleration component is detected from the measurements from the accelerometer and is removed from the acceleration value. Then, the acceleration value, after removal of the earth's gravitational acceleration component, is used to obtain the speed of the moving body. The earth's gravitational acceleration component is detected using a movement average at a point of time when the speed of the moving body is to be measured. By using the magnitude of a difference between a value obtained by removing an x-axis movement average from an x-axis measurement from the two-axis accelerometer and another value obtained by removing a y-axis movement average from a y-axis measurement from the two-axis accelerometer, it is possible to regulate a window for calculating the movement average and a weight value to each of the measurements included in the window. The present invention saves cost by reducing the number of expensive gyroscopes in implementing a speed measuring apparatus for vehicles. In addition, the speed measuring apparatus designed according to the present invention is superior to that designed according to the prior art in performance and improves the accuracy of position estimation in position estimation apparatuses for vehicles.

The present invention provides an indoor unit in air conditioner, including two heat exchangers, a connection pipe connecting the heat exchangers, first means for guiding refrigerant flow, and second means provided to the connection pipe. The two heat exchangers, i.e., first and second heat exchangers, have one ends connected to first and second pipelines connected to parts outside of the indoor unit, for an example, a compressor or an outdoor expansion device. The first means selectively guides the refrigerant introduced thereto through the first or second pipeline to be discharged through the second or the first pipeline after being passed through both, or either of the first and second heat exchangers. The second means is provided to the connection pipe so that the refrigerant transferred from one of the first and second heat exchanger to the other one of the first and second heat exchanger is passed in an original state or in an expanded state.
