Abstract:
Provided are an apparatus and method for negotiating a frame offset between a Base Station (BS) and a Relay Station (RS) in a wireless communication system using a multi-hop relay scheme. A communication method of a superordinate station includes, upon detecting an initial access of an relay station, determining an offset value between a frame number used in the superordinate station and a frame number to be used in the relay station; generating a message including RS frame offset information corresponding to the offset value; and transmitting the generated message to the relay station. Accordingly, since the base station and the relay station share the frame offset, the base station can transmit a specific broadcast message in advance to the relay station by considering the frame offset, and the relay station can transmit data, which has to be transmitted in synchronization with the base station at the same time point or at the same frame number, to a Mobile Station (MS) at an exact time point.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for transmitting an ACK/NACK message from an RS in a wireless communication system using relaying is disclosed, in which the RS checks scheduling information for data transmission from a lower node, receives data from the lower node according to the scheduling information, checks errors in the data, generates error report information indicating whether the data has errors, and transmits the error report information to an upper node.
Abstract:
Provided is an apparatus and method for transmitting frame information in a wireless communication system using a relay scheme. In a method for transmitting frame information from an upper node in the wireless communication system, downlink section information for communication with the lower relay station for a relay service is transmitted to a lower relay station at the request of the lower relay station for an initial connection. After the initial connection, frame information for communication with the lower relay station for a relay service is transmitted to the lower relay station through the downlink section.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for communicating channel information in a relay wireless communication system are provided. A Base Station (BS) apparatus includes a message generator for generating a channel measurement request message to be transmitted to a Relay Station (RS) when the RS is connected; a Transmit (TX) modem for performing a physical layer processing on a message generated by the message generator and for transmitting the processed message; a message analyzer for analyzing a channel measurement response message received from the RS and for obtaining channel estimation information; and a scheduler for performing data scheduling by using the channel estimation information for a predetermined duration corresponding to a plurality of frames.
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for supporting a relay service in a multihop relay wireless communication system are provided. The method includes setting Tx/Rx mode switch region information of a Relay Station (RS). A signal is sent to a Mobile Station (MS) traveling in a service coverage during a first interval of a DownLink (DL) subframe according to resource allocation information. The mode switch region information and a signal are sent over a second interval of the DL subframe. Accordingly, the RS can communicate with a Base Station (BS) with accurate synchronization.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for communicating control information in a Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) system using a multi-hop relay scheme is provided. A method of transmitting control information includes generating scheduling information by performing scheduling for a Relay Station (RS); determining a valid duration for the scheduling information; generating a resource allocation message containing the scheduling information and the valid duration information; and processing the resource allocation message in a physical layer and for transmitting the resource allocation message to the RS.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for configuring a subframe to support a relay service in a multi-hop relay BWA communication system are provided. The apparatus includes at least one of a BS-MS link subframe, a primary RS-MS link subframe, and a BS-secondary RS link subframe are configured in a first period of the subframe, and at least one of a BS-primary RS link subframe, an RS-RS link subframe, and a secondary RS-MS link subframe is configured in a second period of the subframe.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for recognizing by a Mobile Subscriber Station (MSS) whether a serving Base Station (BS) retains connection information in a mobile communication system including the serving BS for providing a service to the MSS and a target BS adjacent to the serving BS. The method includes the steps of receiving a handover request message from the serving BS, the handover request message including a resource remain type field representing whether the connection information having been set with the serving BS is retained, and a resource retain time field representing a connection information-retaining time by the serving BS, and recognizing that the serving BS retains the connection information during a time determined by a value of the resource retain time field.
Abstract:
A method of providing multimedia and information services taking into account user context information, and an apparatus providing these multimedia and information services are provided. The method involves calculating the direction wherein the user is facing using the user context information; comparing the direction wherein the user is determined to be facing with the environment information source of the area wherein the user is located; determining whether the attention of the user is focused on a service device in the location of the user; and providing a service using the device that the attention of the user is focused on if it is determined that the attention of the user is focused on a service device.
