Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for adjusting the color characteristics of a display system using a diffractive optical modulator, which can respond to a user's request to vary color characteristics so as to actively respond to variation in the brightness of external light, etc., and can adjust the overall brightness of an image while maintaining white balance without incurring the loss of gray levels.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method and system for providing a SIP based Instance Messaging (IM), and an IM proxy server therefor. An IM proxy server for performing a proxy function in a mobile communication network is configured to provide an IM service between a mobile terminal lacking an SIP function and an IM server. Further, the IM proxy server converts an IM message received from the mobile terminal into a corresponding SIP message mapped thereto, transmits the SIP message to the IM server through a call session control server, converts an SIP message received from the IM server through the call session control server into an IM message recognizable by the mobile terminal, and transmits the IM message to the mobile terminal, thus providing the SIP based IM service to the mobile terminal lacking an SIP function.
Abstract:
Provided is a method for communication between access points (APs) and for a user agent (UA)'s selecting an AP and establishing a connection by which in establishing a connection between a wireless LAN AP providing a wireless LAN service and the UA in a public wireless LAN service utilizing a wireless LAN technology, a maximum efficiency of the AP a maximum performance of the UA can be obtained. According to the method, the number of user agents connected to a current AP and the amount of traffic being currently processed are compared with the maximum capacity of a neighboring AP and the number of user agents connected to and being serviced by the neighboring AP, to recommend an optimum AP to the user agent. By doing so, the user agent is allowed to comprehensively review information on the number of user agents connected to an adjacent AP and the amount of traffic being processed by the AP as well as reception sensitivity, and then to select an optimum AP.
Abstract:
An arbitration switching system and a method of arbitration switching in a high-speed packet switching system uses a subscriber input/output device, an arbitration switching system and a parallel common bus part for the purpose of point-to-point communication point-to-multipoint communication and transferring packets generated in each node. A system bus structure is based on a parallel common bus type. Furthermore, to accommodate high-speed arbitration switching, operations such as polling, arbitration and switching are processed in parallel. Therefore, bus use efficiency is high, and a bus-extension can be easily achieved. A star LAN may be realized because broadcasting and multicasting are supported. An internal high-speed network for interlock in large-scaled communication systems that need high-speed switching can also be provided.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a multicast source registration method, a multicast receiver joining method and a multicast service providing method during handover, in which another mobile node may constantly receive multicast data even when a mobile node performs handover while transmitting multicast data in various mobile networks. According to the present invention, a safe and fast mobility of a network-based multicast source can be provided.
Abstract:
Provided is an apparatus and method for transmitting and receiving a streaming service. An inter-arrival jitter may correspond to a delay variation in arrival time between TCP packets arriving at an apparatus for receiving the streaming service. The apparatus for receiving the streaming service may determine a de-jitter buffering time to absorb a network jitter before TS packets in a TCP packet is input to a T-STD buffer model. Based on the de-jitter buffering time, an initial playout delay lime at the apparatus for receiving the streaming service may be determined.
Abstract:
In an image transmission error restoring method and an apparatus using the same, a received image frame is divided into a plurality of blocks and each block is divided through a multi-resolution process. After the multi-resolution process, an error-occurred region is searched and the searched error-occurred region is recovered based on information selected from among global pixel information and local pixel information according to complexity of each block.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for inserting scalability and view information into a Moving Picture Experts Group-2 (MPEG-2) Transport Stream (TS) header are provided. When a scalable video or multi-view video is transmitted using an MPEG-2 system, scalability information or view information regarding the scalable video or multi-view video in a payload in a TS level may be used. Using the scalability information or view information, the TS-packetized scalable video or multi-view video may be efficiently adapted to various terminal performances, various network characteristics, a specific user preference, and the like.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for an adaptive Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) streaming service using metadata of media content are provided. The media content may include a sequence of one or more periods. The metadata may include a start time attribute and/or a duration attribute of each of the periods. The metadata may determine a start time of each of the periods, and a start time of each of segments included in each of the periods. A terminal may access segments included in each of the periods, may decode and render data of media content included in the segments, and may play back the media content.
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for acquiring initial synchronization in a wireless communication system are provided. A relay station determines whether or not the initial synchronization is acquired, determines a start position of a frame using a peak of an autocorrelation signal detected based on a preamble and a relay-amble (R-amble) received from a base station in the case in which the initial synchronization is not acquired, and determines the start position of the frame using a peak of an autocorrelation signal detected based on the relay-amble received from the base station in the case in which the initial synchronization is acquired.
