Abstract: A computing device with a touch screen display displays a first set of a first plurality of icons in a first area of the touch screen display, the first plurality of icons including a plurality of sets of icons that are separately displayed in the first area of the touch screen display, the first plurality of icons including application launch icons; displays a second plurality of icons in a second area on the touch screen display, the second plurality of icons including application launch icons, wherein the second area is different from the first area; detects a finger swipe gesture in the first area; and, in response, replaces display of the first set of the first plurality of icons with display of a second set of the first plurality of icons in the first area on the touch screen display, while maintaining the display of the second plurality of icons in the second area on the touch screen display.

Abstract: Various examples are directed to an electronic device capable of touch input through a touch-sensitive surface and/or voice input through a microphone. In some examples, the electronic device may be used in an automobile. For example, some or all of the electronic device may be mounted in a dashboard for use while driving. The electronic device may provide informational content, entertainment content, navigation, and communication features in such a manner that user interaction may be minimized, thus providing a safe driving experience. This can be accomplished by performing tasks and presenting content automatically, without the need for user input, and by allowing user input through voice controls, touch screen controls, and/or physical controls mounted on the dashboard or steering wheel, among other possibilities.

Abstract: Signals usable to determine a path of a vehicle towards a particular stopping point in a vicinity of a destination are detected from an individual authorized to provide guidance with respect to movements of the vehicle. Based at least in part on the signals and a data set pertaining to the external environment of the vehicle, one or more vehicular movements to be implemented to proceed along the path are identified. A directive is transmitted to a motion control subsystem of the vehicle to initiate one of the vehicular movements.

Abstract: At a portable electronic device that includes a portable-device display and is in communication with a vehicle display, displaying a first user interface on the portable-device display. Sending, from the portable electronic device to the vehicle display, information for generating a second user interface, the second user interface including an affordance. While the second user interface is displayed on the vehicle display, detecting an input activating the affordance in the second user interface, and in response, causing the portable electronic device to invoke a digital assistant. In response to invoking the digital assistant, prompting a user for an audible request. In response to receiving the audible request, causing display, within the second user interface, of a digital assistant dialogue box; and subsequently causing display, within the second user interface, of a user interface object associated with a search result, and maintaining the first user interface on the portable-device display.

Abstract: A device displays a first user interface on a first display, including a plurality of objects and corresponding to a second user interface on a second display. While a first object is displayed as a selected object in the second user interface, the device: detects a first input requesting information about a second object; and in response to detecting the first input, displays information about the second object in the first user interface and maintains display of the first object as the selected object in the second user interface. After displaying the information, the device detects a second input selecting the second object. In response to detecting selection of the second input, the device: displays the second object as the selected object in the first user interface; and provides, to the second display, information that enables the second user interface to display the second object as the selected object.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, by sensors inside an enclosure of a vehicle, signals generated by signal generators in the enclosure of the vehicle. One of the sensors or signal generators may be part of a mobile device inside the enclosure. The method also includes determining a location and orientation of the mobile device from the signals. The method further includes determining, based on the location and orientation of the mobile device, an object in the enclosure that the mobile device is pointing to. The mobile device further includes transmitting a message to the mobile device in response to determining that the mobile device is pointing to the object, so as to cause the mobile device to display a user interface to allow the mobile device to control the object.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a warning prompt control module which adjustably controls the display of warning prompts for vehicle elements in a vehicle, based on a determined profile with which the occupant is associated. An occupant detected in the vehicle interior can be associated with a profile based on a sensor data representation of the occupant correlating with a sensor data representation included in the profile, accessing a profile from a device supporting the occupant, etc. A profile can include interaction history data which indicate historical interactions with warning prompts for a vehicle element. Displaying a warning prompt for a vehicle element can be adjustably controlled based on the interaction history data, included in a profile, which is associated with the vehicle element.
