The transmitter(s) (34) and the radio base station nodes (28) comprised thereof are operated to perform a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service over Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) transmission wherein the MBSFN transmission comprises mapping data to a Secondary Common Control Physical Channel (S-CCPCH). For the Secondary Common Control Physical Channel (S-CCPCH) the methods include operating a 16 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) transmitter (34) according to a predetermined strategy. The predetermined strategy is configured whereby one or more discontinuous transmission indication bits input to the transmitter (34) result in unambiguous determination of output values from an Inphase (I) output and a Quadrature (Q) output.

    摘要: A pilot channel signal for time-division multiplexing with one or more traffic channel signals in a broadcast/multi-cast signal and for code-division multiplexing with a continuously transmitted pilot channel signal is described. In an exemplary method for transmitting a broadcast/multicast signal, a pilot symbol sequence is obtained for each slot of one or more frames of the broadcast/multicast signal, so that the pilot symbol sequence varies for each slot of a given frame. The pilot symbol sequence for each slot is spread with a channelization code, and the spread pilot symbol sequence for each slot is scrambled, using a scrambling code, to form a first pilot channel signal. The first pilot channel signal is transmitted so that it is time-division multiplexed with one or more traffic channel signals transmitted during each slot and code-division multiplexed with a second pilot channel signal transmitted during all slots of the one or more frames.

    摘要: The present invention is directed toward an automatic frequency control system for compensating for frequency offset of received data signals in a radio frequency communication system. A reference sample index for the data to be compensated is first determined as a function of the transmission channel and known training data. A scaled phase error estimate is calculated along with a time-varying filter parameter. From the scaled phase error estimate and the filter parameter, a frequency offset estimate and a phase drift estimate are calculated. The system proceeds through the time-indexed, received data signals until the entire received batch of data signals has been processed, and the corresponding compensated soft data has been output.

The output of summation unit 10 is forwarded to another summation unit 12, where it is combined with the primary and secondary synchronization channels P-SCH, S-SCH. PSCNEW has the properties that it is a hierarchical Golay sequence constructed by a plurality of constituent sequences with at least one of the constituent sequences being the Golay sequence, and that it is orthogonal to the primary and secondary synchronization codes used in non-MBSFN capable WCDMA.
