Abstract: Systems and methods are described for a resource allocation and user multiplexing capacity enhancements for interlace based physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) formats in new radio (NR) using unlicensed spectrum (NR-U). The systems and methods can include at least generating, by the UE, an uplink signal according to a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) format 2 and having “n” number of physical resource blocks (PRBs) that are mapped in an interlaced manner across a frequency domain on a orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol, wherein “n” is an integer multiple of a number of PRBs per interlace, and transmitting, by the UE, the uplink signal over a PUCCH that utilizes unlicensed spectrum in a new radio wireless network.

Abstract: An apparatus of user equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry coup led to a memory, where to configure the UE for radio link monitoring (RLM) in a New Radio-Unlicensed (NR-U) network, the processing circuitry is to decode radio resource control (RRC) signaling from a base station. The RRC signaling includes configuration information to configure transmission occasions for a plurality of RLM reference signals (RLM-RSs). A primary synchronization signal (PSS) or a secondary synchronization signal (SSS) detection is performed to determine a number of RLM-RSs of the plurality of RLM-RSs that are successfully transmitted during the transmission occasions. Signal measurements are performed on the RLM-RSs that are successfully transmitted within an evaluation duration to determine a block error rate (BLER). The signal measurements are performed when the number is higher than a threshold number. An in-sync (IS) indicator or an out-of-sync (OOS) indicator are generated based on the signal measurements.

Abstract: Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Next Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. A channel state information (CSI) report may include a CSI part 1 transmission and may be configurable to include a CSI part 2 transmission. The UE may determine a first number of coded modulation symbols per layer to be used for the CSI part 1 transmission on a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) without uplink shared channel (UL-SCH) data. The first number of coded modulation symbols per layer may be determined as: a minimum of a first term and a second term if the CSI report includes the CSI part 2 transmission; and the second term if the CSI report does not include the CSI part 2 transmission.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure describe methods, apparatuses, storage media, and systems for determining that a first physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resource and a second PUCCH resource at least partially overlap, where the first PUCCH resource has a payload of a first size carrying a first uplink control information (UCI) in a first format, and the second PUCCH resource has a payload of a second size carrying a second UCI in a second format. Furthermore, the first UCI and the second UCI are multiplexed to form a combined payload to be carried by the first PUCCH resource in the first format or by the second PUCCH resource in the second format. Abstract: New radio (NR) Uplink (UL) transmissions in an NR physical UL channel can be configured for a user equipment (UE) to communicate with a base station (e.g., gNB). The structures and mechanisms for configured these communications different from long term evolution (LTE) in NR specifications. A UE can generate a UL transmission with symbols on the NR physical channel including demodulation-reference signal (DM-RS) symbols and uplink control information (UCI) symbols. The UL transmissions comprise a DM-RS symbol located at each first symbol with variable lengths. The UE generates the UL transmission as an NR physical UL channel with about a 50% DM-RS overhead with a same or more DM-RS symbols than UCI symbols in a sequential pattern (e.g., an alternating pattern). The UE further maps HARQ-ACK feedback on a PUSCH based a frequency first operation that initiates following the DM-RS symbol located at the first symbol.
