Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes onboarding, by an edge router, a first tenant from a network management system and determining, by the edge router, a mapping of a tenant identifier associated with the first tenant to a controller identifier associated with a controller. The method also includes reserving, by the edge router, a port number in a kernel for the first tenant and inserting, by the edge router, the tenant identifier into a first control packet. The method further includes communicating, by the edge router, the first control packet to the controller via an encrypted control connection during a first peering session. The first peering session shares the encrypted control connection with a second peering session.

Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a method by a network device includes receiving a handshake message for a traffic flow from a Software-Defined Wide-Area Network (SDWAN) and determining, from a traffic policy, whether the traffic flow should be symmetrical. In response to determining from the traffic policy that the traffic flow should be symmetrical, the method further includes performing a flow lookup on the traffic flow to determine if the network device originated the traffic flow. In response to determining that the network device did not originate the traffic flow, the method further includes determining a second network device that originated the traffic flow and sending the handshake message for the traffic flow to the second network device in order to maintain symmetry for the traffic flow.

Data traffic passing into a virtualized network environment including a plurality of virtual machines running on a switch fabric is monitored. A network threat introduced through at a least a portion of the data traffic is identified at the switch fabric. One or more remedial measures are performed in the network environment based on the identification of the network threat in the virtualized network environment.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media for interconnecting SDWANs through segment routing. A first SDWAN and a second SDWAN of a SDWAN fabric can be identified. A segment routing domain that interconnects the first SDWAN and the second SDWAN can be formed across a WAN underlay of the SDWAN fabric. Data transmission between the first SDWAN and the second SDWAN can be controlled by performing segment routing through the segment routing domain formed between the first SDWAN and the second SDWAN.

Abstract: In one example, a Virtual Network Function Manager (VNFM) obtains, from a monitoring agent that is configured to monitor a Virtual Network Function (VNF) for a presence of a technical issue with the VNF, an indication of the presence of the technical issue with the VNF. The monitoring agent is deployed at a remote site. Based on the indication of the presence of the technical issue with the VNF, the VNFM determines a resolution for the presence of the technical issue with the VNF. The VNFM automatically implements the resolution for the presence of the technical issue with the VNF.

Abstract: Techniques are presented in which a new information element signaling priority of a management entity is included in a setup (e.g., S1-Setup) response or configuration update message sent by a management entity to a base station entity. The base station entity interprets this priority information along with the relative capacity information in an appropriate way to load-distribute the traffic/calls to highly preferable management entity instances (at a local site) when they are available, and switchover/failover to lower preference management entity instances (at a remote site) when there is a local site outage/failure or insufficient capacity in a geo-resilient pooled network.

Abstract: Presented herein are efficient techniques through which a Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) may retrieve information for a Mobility Management Entity (MME) to support graceful mobility for various inter-Radio Access Technology (inter-RAT) mobility scenarios. In one example, a method includes determining, by an AMF, an inter-RAT mobility event for a user equipment; identifying, by the AMF, an MME associated with the inter-RAT mobility event based, at least in part, on MME information contained in a network database; and transferring context information for the user equipment between the AMF and the MME. In one instance, the network database may be a Network Repository Function (NRF) for a 3GPP Fifth Generation mobile network and the MME information may be associated with an MME network function type stored in the NRF.

Abstract: In one example, a first connectivity request for a first network connection between a user equipment and a first network is obtained. A control plane serving gateway node for the first network connection is selected. The control plane serving gateway node is co-located with a control plane packet data network gateway node configured to support a second network connection between the user equipment and a second network that is different from the first network. A second connectivity request for the second network connection is obtained. The second network connection is established with the control plane serving gateway node and the control plane packet data network gateway node.

Abstract: Methods are provided to preemptively reconfigure a mobile network to respond to external emergencies. The method is performed at a network device of a service provider which provides access to a mobile network for wireless device. The method includes obtaining a message indicating an occurrence of a disaster. The message includes at least an emergency type and location information. The method further includes determining, based on the emergency type, a reconfiguration policy for reconfiguring the mobile network in an area indicated by the location information and reconfiguring the mobile network based on the reconfiguration policy. The method further includes authenticating a disaster application function and a notification message informing about an occurrence of a disaster.
