摘要: A by-product mixture produced when polycrystalline silicon is deposited on a base material in a CVD reactor is made to react with chlorine to form a tetrachlorosilane (STC) effluent in a chlorination reaction vessel, and the tetrachlorosilane (STC) distillate is made to react with hydrogen in a hydrogenation reaction vessel to be converted into trichlorosilane (TCS). In the chlorination step, poly-silane contained in the above described by-product mixture can be efficiently recycled as a raw material for producing the polycrystalline silicon, which can enhance a yield of the production process. In addition, in the chlorination step, methyl chlorosilanes having boiling points close to TCS are hyper-chlorinated to be converted into hyper-chlorinated methyl chlorosilanes having higher boiling points, which facilitates the hyper-chlorinated methyl chlorosilanes to be separated into high concentration, and reduces carbon contamination of the polycrystalline silicon.

摘要: An image reader adopting an off-axial optical system, an adjustable imaging mirror and a CCD fixed to a highly rigid structure. Since the relative position between reflecting and imaging mirrors can be set highly accurately, adjusting only the CCD-mounting position allows a required specification of the read image to be met. The imaging mirror can easily be adjusted without distorting the reflecting surface. The reflecting and imaging mirrors, and the CCD-mounting-position adjuster are positioned directly to reflecting-mirror supporting sections, imaging-mirror supporting sections, and CCD supporting sections, which are integrated with a carriage casing, and fixed to them. The CCD is fixed to the carriage casing with the CCD-mounting-position adjuster. An imaging mirror close to a diaphragm and adjacent to the image is supported by a mirror adjusting plate, which can be displaced to adjust the position of the imaging mirror.

摘要: An image scanner in which in scanning an image of a document placed on a scanner body, an image scanning device moves and scans the image of the document. In scanning an image of a document fed by a document feeder to the scanner body, the image scanning device moves to a predetermined scanning position and then scans the image of the document in the scanning position. When the image scanning device arrives at the scanning position, the image scanning device is pressed against a stopper that is positioned relative to the document feeder.

摘要: An original scanning apparatus having a fixed light source which can be applied to image forming apparatus and original reading apparatus. In this apparatus, side reflectors opposed to each other confine light from the light source within a space therebetween in order to efficiently utilize light. A drive assembly for shifting a scanning assembly is arranged to be outside said space between the side reflectors in order to prevent contaminants, oil, or the like of the drive assembly from adhering to reflecting surfaces of the side reflector. Thus nonuniformity in illuminance can be prevented. Also, in order to minimize clearances, which light comes through, between the scanning assembly and the side reflectors, spacers for keeping the clearances constant are provided. Furthermore, in order to prevent nonuniformity in illuminance caused by contaminants, oil, and the like, cleaning members for cleaning the side reflectors are provided.

摘要: An image bearing member of an image forming apparatus is heated both during an image forming operation and during an inoperative condition. At least two developing sleeves are opposed to the image bearing member. An angular difference between an angle by which one of the developing sleeves is rotated until any point on the image bearing member reaches a first position where a distance between the one developing sleeve and the image bearing member is minimum, and an angle by which the other developing sleeve is rotated until the point on the image bearing member reaches a second position where a distance between the other developing sleeve and the image bearing member is minimum, becomes (2.pi./S).times.k (rad.), where S is the number of the developing sleeves and k is an integral number excluding multiples of S.

摘要: The method comprises at least three steps of a hydrogenation step (101) and/or a chlorination step (102), an impurity conversion step (103), and a purification step (104). In the impurity conversion step (103), an aldehyde compound represented by the general formula Ar—R—CHO (Ar; denotes a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, R; denotes an organic group having two or more carbon atoms) is added to convert donor impurities and acceptor impurities contained in a chlorosilane distillate to a high-boiling substance. The chlorosilane distillate after the donor impurities and acceptor impurities have been converted to a high-boiling substance is sent to the purification step (104). In the purification step (104), high purity chlorosilanes from which the donor impurities and acceptor impurities have been thoroughly removed are obtained by using a distillation column or the like, where the high purity chlorosilanes are recovered outside the system from the top of the column.

摘要: The invention is to provide a miniaturized sheet processing apparatus in that a conveying length a conveying distance need not be increased even though the number of sheets per bundle increases. A glue applying bookbinder that partially glues sheets and performs a pressing process to form a sheet bundle. The glue applying bookbinder includes a processing tray that stacks sheets, a glue applying portion that applies a glue on the sheets on the processing tray, and pressing portions that press the sheets on the processing tray. The glue applying portion is arranged such that the glue applying portion can be moved from a first standby position outside the sheets stacked on the stacking portion to a second standby position, different from the first standby position, outside the sheets through an upper surface of the sheets, and the pressing portions are moved integrally with the glue applying portion.
