Abstract:
Embodiments of an event-driven process management and automation system are disclosed. Such system may be particularly appropriate for a multi-tenant environment so that a single process handling flow may be generated for a given process. Because in a multi-tenant environment many different entities may desire to customize or optimize this process handling flow for their particular usage, modifications to the process flow may be easily handled by a non-technical user to realize process modification without incurring additional development costs. Using a multi-level hierarchical inheritance model in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, a process may be standardized, with focused customization available on a macro and/or micro level.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods convert a MIG welder into an effective cutting machine. A plug adaptor is installed into the existing MIG welder gun cup nozzle, which has an inside diameter and a length. A contact tip within the cup has an outside diameter, and shielding gas ports in the cup typically surround the contact tip. The plug adaptor comprises a body having a width dimension corresponding to the inside diameter of the cup, a length corresponding to the length of the cup, and a central bore corresponding to the outer diameter of the contact tip. A channel is established between the width dimension of the body and the inside diameter of the cup enabling air to flow from the shielding gas ports to a workpiece for slag removal produced during the cutting operation. The MIG gun is not modified in any way except for the addition of the removable adaptor.

Abstract:
Architecture for efficiently ensuring that data is stored to the desired destination datastore such as for replication processes. A copy of data (e.g., messages) sent to a datastore for storage is stored at an alternate location until a received signal indicates that the storage and replication was successful. As soon as the feedback signal is received, the copy is removed from the alternate location, and hence, improves input/output (I/O) and storage patterns. The feedback mechanism can also be used for monitoring the status of data transport associated with log shipping, for example, and taking the appropriate actions when storage (e.g., replication) is not being performed properly.
Abstract:
According to an embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for addressing compatibility in a session protocol environment is provided that includes a communications platform operable to communicate with a first endpoint and a second endpoint and to recognize signaling capabilities of the first and second endpoints. The apparatus also includes a media termination point (MTP) operable to communicate with the endpoints and the communications platform, the media termination point being provisioned by the communications platform in a stream that involves the first and second endpoints if a signaling compatibility issue is present amongst the endpoints. If an out-of-band digit from the first endpoint is received by the communications platform, the out-of-band digit is sent to the MTP, which is operable to inject a digit associated with the second protocol into the communication session such that a mapping occurs between the digits for the first and second protocols.
Abstract:
A system comprising a transmitter periodically transmitting a packet via electromagnetic radiation. The packet may be encoded with information and have a length measured in time. The system may further include a receiver comprising an antenna converting incident electromagnetic radiation to an analog electrical current, an analog-to-digital converter receiving the analog electrical current and producing a digital representation thereof, and first and second buffers. Each of the buffers may have a capacity of at least two times the length of the packet. The first and second buffers may store respective first and second copies of the digital representation. The first copy may be offset in time from the second copy by at least the length of the packet.
Abstract:
The present technique provides for the manufacture and/or use of an ultrasound probe configured to acquire non-imaging data in addition to imaging data. In particular, the ultrasound probe includes a micro-machined ultrasound transducer formed on the surface of a substrate using micro-electric mechanical systems techniques or other techniques associated with semiconductor processing. Non-imaging sensors are formed on the substrate, either on the surface or the interior, or on a substrate proximate to the substrate upon which the transducer is formed. The non-imaging sensors may be used to acquire non-imaging data in conjunction with the acquisition of imaging data by the transducer.
Abstract:
An athletic shoe having an improved cleat arrangement is provided. An improved cleat having a v-shape is also provided. An angled or v-cleat is provided near the first metatarsal region to provide improved traction for a wide variety of sports.
Abstract:
The reconfigurable ultrasound array disclosed herein is one that allows groups of subelements to be connected together dynamically so that the shape of the resulting element can be made to match the shape of the wave front. This can lead to improved performance and/or reduced channel count. Reconfigurability can be achieved using a switching network. A methodology and an algorithm are disclosed that allows the performance of this switching network to be improved by properly choosing the configuration of the switching network.
