    Abstract: Applicants have developed a physically and chemically stable solid composition containing a soil release polymer and an acidulant. The sour step thus accomplishes both stain removal and residual alkalinity removal. A novel method of using a soil release polymer and an acidulant together in the same post wash step of a laundry wash process is also disclosed. The solid composition is physically stable, even during aqueous dispensing, i.e. non-slumping and non-weeping. The solid could be formed through a melt, cast, or pressed process.

    Abstract: A method for enhancing bleaching efficacy for treatment of articles, including for example laundry is disclosed. Methods for antimicrobial disinfecting and/or sanitizing and bleaching laundry and other articles is provided by washing the articles with a peroxyformic acid composition at a first pH for effective antimicrobial efficacy, thereafter applying an alkaline source to increase the pH for addition of a bleaching component. The methods can be provided as part of a laundry operation and can be utilized in industrial and commercial applications.

    Abstract: The invention discloses detergent compositions containing acrylic acid polymers, including methacrylic acid/ethyl acrylate polymers. In certain embodiments compositions employ an acrylic acid polymer comprising at least 40 wt-% polymerized residues of acrylic monomers, at least 50 wt-% of at least one surfactant, a solvent, at least one water conditioning polymer, and water. The detergent compositions provide increased soil removal and soil suspension when treating textiles, namely through use of industrial laundering machinery. The detergent compositions and methods of employing the same beneficially clean and prevent redeposition of soils containing high concentrations of oil and metal particulates, as are customary in industrial laundering soils.
