摘要: Trimming is automatically performed based on a person or persons in whom a photographer has interest. All of facial images included in a whole image are detected. Then, judgment is made as to whether each of the detected facial images is a facial image of a specific person, face information about whom is stored in a face database. If the detected facial images include a facial image or images of the specific person or persons, trimming is performed based on the facial image or images of the specific person or persons.

摘要: A first light beam and a second light beam having discrete wavelength bands are emitted form a light source unit, and enter a light divider. The light divider separates each light beam into a measuring light beam and a reference light beam. The measuring light beams are irradiated on a measurement target, and reflected light beams, which are reflected at various depth positions of the measurement target, are caused to enter a combiner. The reference light beams propagate through optical fibers to enter the combiner. Interference light beams formed by the reflected light beams and the reference light beams for each of the first and second light beams are photoelectrically converted into interference signals. A tomographic image is obtained employing the interference signals for each of the first and second light beams.

摘要: An optical tomograph is equipped with: a light source unit for emitting a plurality of light beams, the wavelengths of which are swept within different predetermined wavelength bands respectively with the same period; light divider which divides each light beam into a measuring light beam and a reference light beam; light beam combiner which combines reflected light beams, which are the measuring light beams reflected by a measurement target when the measuring light beams are irradiated thereon, with a reference light. An interference light detector detects an interference light beam, which is formed by the reflected light beam and the reference light combined by the light beam combiner, for each of the light beams as an interference signal. A tomographic image processor generates a tomographic image of the measurement target employing the plurality of interference signals detected by the interference light detector.

摘要: Structural element candidates, estimated to be predetermined structural elements of a predetermined subject, are detected from an image that includes the subject. The subject that includes the structural element candidates is detected from the image in the vicinity of the detected structural element candidates. The characteristics of the structural elements are discriminated from the image in the vicinity of the structural element candidates, at a higher accuracy than when the structural elements were detected. In the case that the characteristics of the structural elements are discriminated, the structural element candidates are confirmed as being the predetermined structural elements.

摘要: A red eye detection device detects, from an image that contains the pupil of an eye having a red eye region, the red eye region. One or more red eye candidate regions that can be estimated to be the red eye region are first detected by identifying at least one of the features of the pupil from among features of the image. Then, at least one of the features of a face region with a predetermined size that contains the pupil is identified from a region containing only one of the red eye candidate regions detected by the red eye candidate detection section and wider than the one red eye candidate region. Then, the red eye candidate region is confirmed as a red eye region, based on a result of the identification. Information on the confirmed red eye candidate region is output as information on the detected red eye region.

摘要: A plurality of different facial images is used to cause a face classification apparatus to learn a characteristic feature of a face by using a machine-learning method. Each of the facial images includes a face which has the same direction and the same angle of inclination as those of a face included in each of the other facial images and each of the facial images is limited to an image of a specific facial region. For example, the facial region is a predetermined region including only a specific facial part other than a region below an upper lip to avoid an influence of a change in facial expressions. Alternatively, if the apparatus is used to detect a frontal face and to perform refined detection processing on the extracted face candidate, a region including only an eye or eyes, a nose and an upper lip is used as the facial region.
