    摘要： A seal disposed in the interior of a roller which is used in a system wherein paint is supplied under pressure to the interior of the roller consists of porous resilient filter material which simultaneously performs the function of sealing the exterior opening which must be present to permit rotation and assembly of the roller parts, filtering pigment from the paint so that if any leakage does occur only non-pigment containing liquid will exit, and permitting relative rotation of rotatable parts of the roller with respect to stationary parts of the roller while maintaining the seal. The seal is in the form of a grommet or elongated washer which completely surrounds a shaft support carried on a rotatable part of the roller to which the paint-applying knap is affixed, the support in turn receiving a shaft of a stationary part of the roller to which paint is supplied under pressure in the interior of the roller.

    摘要： A filter arrangement for threadably securing to a filter head includes a housing having a surrounding wall defining an interior volume, an open mouth providing access to the interior volume and an end opposite of the open mouth. The surrounding wall has an exterior and an interior. A filter media construction is operably held within the interior volume. A sleeve, distinct from the housing, is secured to the exterior of the surrounding wall adjacent to the housing mouth and extending partially along the surrounding wall. The sleeve has an exterior and an interior. The exterior of the sleeve defines mounting threads constructed and arranged to removably mount with the filter head, when the filter arrangement is secured to the filter head. The interior of the sleeve is against the exterior of the surrounding wall. A first seal member is oriented against the sleeve to create a seal with a filter head, when the filter arrangement is secured to the filter head. A filter assembly includes a filter arrangement and a filter head. The filter arrangement is removably secured to the filter head by a threaded connection between the sleeve and the filter head. A system includes an engine utilizing a liquid and a filter assembly in fluid communication with the engine to filter the liquid. Methods of making filter arrangements include utilizing structures characterized above.

The lock-out mechanism is unlocked by a key ring on the filter cartridge. A method of installing a filter assembly includes using protrusions on a key ring on a filter cartridge to unlock an adapter assembly in a filter head to allow for connection between the filter assembly and the filter head.

    摘要： A cartridge type filter is mounted in a housing and is serviced through the top of the housing. The cartridge includes first and second media packs axially stacked. The second media pack is in series behind the first media pack, and filters a portion of the liquid therethrough. The second media pack has a higher efficiency than the first media pack. The overall design has a drain system which allows liquid to drain from the interior of the filter housing and back to the sump before the filter cartridge is completely removed from the housing. Other optional features include an oil cooler, various valving, and a filter cartridge lockout mechanism.
