摘要: The present invention discloses methods for condition-based monitoring of a system and its components using joint time-frequency analysis and signal demodulation. A first method allows construction of models of non-stationary signals having multiple time and frequency scales of interest. In particular, the method uses wavelet analysis to encode essential information in time-frequency transformations and provides a signal model for an operating fault or normal operation of a system of interest. A second method uses the signal models for condition-based monitoring to detect a change in a signal. In this method, the signal models are correlated with sensor signals to determine the operating condition of a system or system component. A third method for condition-based monitoring uses signal demodulation. In this method, a nominal response of a system component is subtracted from a detected signal to more reliably detect subtle changes in the signal due to component degradation.

摘要: A MEMS-based system that enables low cost, low power, single chip realization of real-time signal detection and fault diagnosis. The system is suitable for analyzing the time-varying properties of a signal that are important for condition-based monitoring of electro-mechanical machines or structures. The system includes mechanical sensors that sense input signals such as vibration, signal templates of fault conditions, logic units that detect, store, and compare signal features to provide a diagnostic state, and an output readout mechanism to couple the diagnostic state to readout device that provides an external signal.

摘要: A micromechanical resonator including a motion arresting mechanism to rapidly damp the vibration of a resonator beginning at any given moment in time to remove vibration caused by previous events. An electrostatic clamp uses a bias voltage between an electrode and the resonator to damp the resonator and return it to its equilibrium position. A mechanical clamp includes an actuator that forces the mechanical clamp to contact the resonator. These micromechanical resonators facilitate condition based monitoring of complex electromechanical machines and components by allowing signature analysis in multiple temporal and frequency domains.

摘要: An architecture and techniques to enable a mobile device to efficiently classify raw sensor data into useful high level inferred data is discussed. Classification efficiency is achieved by tuning the mobile device's raw sensor data classification pipeline to attain a balance of accuracy, latency and energy suitable for mobile devices. The tuning of the classification pipeline is accomplished via a multi-pipeline tuning approach that uses Statistical Machine Learning Tools (SMLTs) and a classification cost modeler.

摘要: Energy management modeling and scheduling techniques are described for reducing the power consumed to execute an application on a multi-processor computing platform within a certain time period. In one embodiment, a sophisticated resource model which accounts for discrete operating modes for computing components/resources on a computing platform and transition costs for transitioning between each of the discrete modes is described. This resource model provides information for a specific heterogeneous multi-processor computing platform and an application being implemented on the platform in a form that can be processed by a selection module, typically utilizing an integer linear programming (ILP) solver or algorithm, to select a task schedule and operating configuration(s) for executing the application within a given time.

摘要: Technologies pertaining to compressing time-series signals are described herein. Groups of time-series signals are generated based upon similarities between time-series signals. Each group of time-series signals includes a respective base time-series signal. Ratio signals that are representative of time-series signals are computed, wherein the ratio signals are based upon the base time-series signal and other respective time-series signals in a group of time-series signals.

摘要: An apparatus comprises a body that extends longitudinally between a top end and a bottom end, an elongate slot disposed in an outer surface of the body and having first and second spaced-apart detents, and a cap disposed coaxially around the body and having a cut therein that defines an elongate arm. The elongate arm has an inwardly-oriented protrusion configured to engage the detents of the slot. The cap is slidable along the body such that the inwardly-oriented protrusion slides along the slot until it detachably engages a detent, thereby retaining the cap in either a closed position that covers the bottom end or an open position in which the bottom end is exposed.
