Abstract: A cellular antenna structure for integration in a vehicle includes a ground plane to follow a slope of a spoiler chassis. The spoiler chassis is a portion of the vehicle covered by a spoiler. The cellular antenna structure also includes a cellular antenna orthogonal to the ground plane and electrically connected to the ground plane and a structural support affixed to the ground plane to maintain a fixed position of the cellular antenna orthogonal to the ground plane.

Abstract: A vehicle includes a spoiler and an antenna assembly for the vehicle. The spoiler includes a support surface and a cover attachable to the support surface to form a cavity with the support surface. The antenna assembly includes a circuit board, antenna and support beam. The circuit board is attachable to the support surface. The support beam extends from the circuit board and the antenna is at an end of the support beam opposite the circuit board. The antenna is disposed within the cavity.

Abstract: A multi-antenna ground plane structure in a vehicle includes a first ground plane to be electrically connected to a fascia chassis. The fascia chassis is a portion of the vehicle covered by a fascia. A first side of the first ground plane seats two or more antennas. The multi-antenna ground plane structure also includes one or more additional ground planes affixed to a second side, opposite the first side, of the first ground plane. One of the one or more additional ground planes is attached to one or more antennas such that the one or more antennas is oriented opposite an orientation of the two or more antennas seated on the first ground plane.

Abstract: An antenna structure including a dual-band WiFi CPW antenna formed on a dielectric substrate and a frequency selective impedance surface formed on the substrate and at least partially surrounding the antenna. The antenna includes a ground plane defining a gap and an antenna radiating element including a radiating portion positioned proximate to the ground plane and a feed line extending into the gap. The frequency selective impedance surface can be a ring that is configured around the radiating portion of the radiating element, where the frequency selective impedance ring receives surface waves propagating along the dielectric substrate generated by the antenna.

Abstract: A transparent pane assembly including a transparent pane, an antenna and an electromagnetic connector assembly. The transparent pane includes first and second layers made of a dielectric substrate, and the second layer includes opposite first and second faces. The antenna is disposed between the first and second layers, and is attached to the first face. The electromagnetic connector assembly includes a metal bonding pad, a coaxial connector, and a printed circuit board. The bonding pad is adhered to the second face and aligned to a feed portion of the antenna for electromagnetic coupling. The circuit board includes opposite first and second sides and an electrically conductive trace carried by the second side. The coaxial connector is electrically connected to the PCB at the second side, and the electrically conductive trace is in electrical contact with the metal bonding pad.

Abstract: A signal processing apparatus for simultaneously receiving and processing a satellite signal and a WCS signal. The system and method is operative to receive the signals, amplify and bandwidth covering both signals, splitting the amplified signal into a first and second portions, filtering the first portion to reduce the WCS signal, amplifying the first portion to amplify the satellite signal in the first portion, and processing the satellite signal in the first portion. The system and method is further operative to processing the WCS signal in the second portion.
