    摘要: The invention relates to fluid paths in etchable materials. Fluid paths are formed by forming a cavity through a substrate material with a first dry removal process to produce a first surface of the cavity. The first surface of the cavity is associated with a first roughness. The first surface of the cavity is etched with a second wet removal process to reduce the first roughness and produce a second roughness associated with the first surface of the cavity. A coating is applied to the first surface of the cavity to produce a second surface to improve wettability of the first or second surface of the cavity, reduce in size or number gas nucleation sites in the first or second surface of the cavity, reduce the amount of debris associated with the first roughness carried by the fluid flow, and/or improve hydrophilicity of the first or second surface.

    摘要: In an x-ray detector of the type employing a gas-filled chamber containing a number of electrode plates for detecting ionization event caused by the interaction of x-ray photons with the gas, a number of detector cells are formed, each detector cell containing two electrode plates disposed in a plane in succession in the direction of propagation of an incoming x-ray beam. In order to permit the acquisition of different spectral ranges, the electrical signals from the electrode plates are respectively conducted out of the chamber. The electrode plates are plugged into spring contacts and are connected group-by-group to a conductor foil. Each conductor run within the conductor foil has a contact projection for making electrical contact between the conductor foil and a printed circuit board, which carries electronic components for processing the detector singles.

    摘要: An apparatus is provided for producing metallic heat exchanger tubes having a heat exchange surface that is increased by fins. A rotating tube has helically wound on its outer surface a strip that forms the fins, with this strip being fed to the tube surface under tension, and with the bottom edge of the strip being welded to the tube. The contact surface that exists between the tube and the bottom edge of the strip, and that extends helically on the surface of the tube, is fused exclusively at the surface of the tube with a laser beam that is directed in the region where the strip runs onto the surface of the tube, and that fuses a portion of the tube surface that in the axial direction of the tube corresponds at least to the width of the bottom edge of the strip and in the circumferential direction corresponds approximately to the same amount. At the same time, the laser beam fuses the bottom edge of the incoming strip in the region where the strip runs onto the surface of the tube. The fused surface areas are joined in a gap-free manner as the strip runs onto the tube, and are connected to one another to form a continuous, residual-gap-free welding.
