    摘要: A magnetic recording medium comprised of a nonmagnetic support base having a magnetic recording layer on one surface thereof and a backing layer on the other surface thereof is disclosed. The backing layer is comprised of (1) carbon black having a particle size in the range of 10 to 150 m.mu., (2) graphite having a particle size of 3.mu. or less, and (3) a curing agent. By utilizing this particular backing layer the resulting recording medium has improved durability with respect to the backing layer and shows a decreased in the number of dropouts and scratches during use.

    摘要: In a method of making a magnetic recording sheet, a magnetic material is applied on a web in a layer consisting of a number of contiguous first strip-like zones and second strip-like zones which are alternately arranged in parallel to each other. The ratio of the width of the first strip-like zone to that of the second strip-like zone is within a range of 1:3 to 3:1. In the first strip-like zones having a width of not more than 5 mm the magnetic particles are oriented in a first direction, and in the second strip-like zones magnetic particles are oriented in a second direction which is inclined with respect to the first direction at an angle from 60.degree. to 120.degree.. With this particular orientation of the magnetic particles in the magnetic layer when the magnetic layer is applied on a web, the orientation of the magnetic particles become almost random while the magnetic layer is hardened. The magnetic recording disc thus prepared has a very low output fluctuation and a higher output level.

    摘要: An abrasive tape comprises a flexible non-magnetic substrate, and an abrasive coating film essentially consisting of an abrasive material, a binder and an additive kneaded together and applied onto the flexible non-magnetic substrate. The abrasive material has a Mohs hardness of 6 or higher, and the binder essentially consists of a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer, a prepolymer having an isocyanate group at a terminal, and an organic amine.

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium is described, comprising a non-magnetic support having provided thereon a magnetic layer being provided on one surface of the support and a backing layer being provided on the surface of the support opposite to said magnetic layer, the backing layer containing (A) a binder comprised of resin having a 100% modulus of 150 kg/cm.sup.2 or less present in an amount of 50 to 95 wt % based on the total weight amount of binder and (B) non-magnetic particles comprised of (i) carbon black having an average particle size of more than 0.1 .mu.m to 1.0 .mu.m, and (ii) carbon black having an average particle size of 0.01 .mu.m to 0.1 .mu.m in a weight ratio of carbon black (i)/carbon black (ii) of 95/5 to 5/95, with the non-magnetic particles in the backing layer being present in an amount of 40 to 300 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the total binder.

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium comprised of a nonmagnetic support base having a magnetic layer provided thereon is disclosed. The magnetic layer includes ferromagnetic particles dispersed in a binder in combination with carbon black particles. The carbon black particles have an average primary particle size in the range of 30 m.mu. to 50 m.mu.. Further, the carbon black is capable of the adsorption of 120 ml or more of dibutyl phthalate per 100 g of carbon black. By utilizing the particular carbon black of the present invention it is possible to obtain a magnetic recording medium having improved running properties.
