    摘要: A combination of a cutter and a fastener unit for fastening the cutter to a tool attachment shaft. The cutter includes a cutter body formed therein with a threaded bore. The fastener unit includes a fastener element having one axial end portion provided on its outer peripheral surface with first threads threadedly engageable with a threaded bore in the tool attachment shaft. The other axial end portion of the fastener element is provided on its outer peripheral surface with second threads threadedly engageable with the threaded bore in the cutter body. The first threads are reverse in a direction of helix to the second treads. An end face of the other axial end portion has a size at most equal to an inner diameter of the threaded bore in the cutter body. If the fastener unit includes a clamper in addition to the fastener element, the cutter body is formed therein with a through bore in place of the threaded bore, and the clamper is received in the through bore. The clamper is formed therein with a threaded bore with which the threads on the one axial end portion of the fastener element is engageable.

    摘要: An end mill includes a body having a core receiving recess and a cutting insert releasably mounted thereon. An upper surface of the insert has a first cutting edge ridge serving as an outer peripheral cutting edge, a second cutting edge ridge providing an end cutting edge and a third cutting edge ridge providing an inner peripheral cutting edge. The upper surface has a corner where the second and third cutting edge ridge intersecting each other. The upper surface is composed of a central portion and a corner portion including the corner, whereby the third cutting edge ridge comprising a first edge portion defined by a ridge of the corner portion and a second edge portion defined by a ridge of the central portion. At least that portion of the corner portion disposed adjacent the central portion is inclined providing a thickness of the insert is progressively reduced toward the corner. The insert has a negative radial rake at the outer peripheral cutting edge and a positive axial rake. The second edge portion extends radially outwardly of the body and in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the body from that point where the first and second edge portions intersect. The distance between the corner and the axis is longer than between the axis and a point at which a line extending radially outwardly of the body from the axis and a line on which a corner ridge lies cross at right angles.

    摘要: An end mill comprises an end mill body and a throw-away tip mounted on a forward end of the end mill body so as to be spaced from an axis thereof. A core receiving recess is formed at a center of a forward end face of the end mill body and has a size equal to or greater than a distance between the throw-away tip and the axis of the end mill body. The throw-away tip has an end cutting edge formed by a cutting edge ridge located adjacent the forward end of the end mill body and extending from an outer peripheral side of the end mill body toward an inner peripheral side thereof, and outer and inner peripheral cutting edges respectively formed by cutting edge ridges respectively extending from outer and inner peripheral ends of the end cutting edge toward a rearward end of the end mill body. The end mill body may mount at least two throw-away tips disposed symmetrically with respect to the axis thereof.

    摘要: An image input device 1 includes a rotating roller 4 supported so as to be freely rotatable around a rotational axis thereof, wherein the roller 4 includes a line image sensor 3 and a Selfoc lens array 6 which are mounted not to rotate in the rotating roller 4 by a holder 51. The holder 51 functions as a light guide to introduce the light emitted from light emitting elements 52 to a finger 200 which is pressed against the peripheral surface of the rotating roller 4. Selfoc lens array 6 forms a one-dimensional optical image of the portion of the finger 200 which is in contact with the peripheral surface of the rotating roller 4, on the line image sensor 3, so that the line image sensor 3 obtains the one-dimensional optical image. Then, the one-dimensional optical images are combined by a composite buffer 15 in order, to create a two-dimensional optical image of the finger 200.

    摘要: A toothed belt particularly suitable for use in general industrial machineries includes a cured rubber belt body, a tensile member embedded in the belt body, and a tooth fabric adhered to the surface of teeth of the belt body. The belt body is formed primarily from a vulcanizable rubber composition containing hydrogenated nitrile rubber and zinc polymethacrylate. The zinc polymethacrylate and the hydrogenated nitrile rubber are blended together in a ratio of from 22:78 to 45:55 parts by weight. To the vulcanizable rubber composition, a vulcanizing agent comprised of peroxide and a reinforcer comprised of carbon black are added, and a mixture is vulcanized and pressed or otherwise molded to form the afore-said cured rubber belt body with the tensile member embedded therein. The tensile member is made of high-strength glass fibers. The glass fibers preferably have a resorcin-formalin-latex layer and an overcoat layer both formed thereon.

    摘要: First and second tips 4A and 4B are disposed on the outer periphery of the forward end of an end mill body 1 in a manner such that the tips 4A and 4B are displaced from each other about the periphery of the end mill body 1. The rotation loci of edges of the first and second tips 4A and 4B around the axis O of the end mill body 1 are mutually overlapped. The edge of the first tip 4A protrudes slightly farther toward the forward end of the end mill than the edge of the second tip 4B. Further, third tips 4C are disposed adjacent to the base end of the second tip 4B in such a manner that no gap is formed between the rotation locus of the edge of the third tip 4C located most adjacent to the forward end of the end mill body and the rotation locus of the rear end of the second tip 4B. As a consequence, the second tip 4B and the third tips 4C can be spirally disposed in the rearward rotating direction of the end mill as they extend toward the base end of the end mill. The respective tips 4, moreover, are formed of only one type having the same shape and dimensions. With this construction, the maintenance of tips can be remarkably simplified, and the wear of the tips, in particular, the wear of the first tip 4A, can be inhibited, thereby accomplishing a uniformity of the degree of the wear of the overall tips.

The angle of intersection between the convex curved surface and one of the upper and lower surfaces progressively increases or decreases along the length of the face from the face end adjacent to a free end of the tool to a face end adjacent to the base end of the tool. In a preferred embodiment, a flat surface is disposed on each side of the convex curved surface and each flat surface intersects one of the upper and lower surfaces at a constant angle. The flat surface adjacent to the face end adjacent to the free end of the tool intersects with one of the upper and lower surfaces at an angle which is greater or smaller than the angle of intersection between the flat surface adjacent to the face end adjacent to the base end of the tool and one of the upper and lower surfaces of the cutting insert.
