摘要: In a partitioned process environment, storage is reassigned by a shuffle of guest absolute address spaces which may be reassigned among partitions without restriction as to the position of the space to be reassigned relative to the position of the partition to which it is to be assigned. The reassignment is accomplished by adjusting the origin addresses by an adjustment value corresponding to the size of the address space of an additional memory area to be added to a selected partition. Furthermore, the size of the address space of the selected partition is increased by the same adjustment value. The system employs duplicated origin and limit arrays which are used to convert from a partition (guest) absolute address to a system (host) absolute address and uses duplicated configuration arrays by which the system absolute addresses are converted to physical memory addresses. Revised origin and limit information and configuration information is stored in an origin and limit array in the stand by state and in a configuration array in the stand by state. Autonomously operating circuitry is responsive to control signals to temporarily suspend memory commands from the input-output system, to reconfigure the origin and limit arrays and the configuration arrays to enable the system to use the revised information and, thereafter, to resume the processing of memory commands from the input-output system.

摘要: Back-end-of-line (BEOL) circuit structures and methods are provided for blocking externally-originating or internally-originating electromagnetic edge interference. One such BEOL circuit structure includes a semiconductor substrate supporting one or more integrated circuits, and multiple BEOL layers disposed over the semiconductor substrate. The multiple BEOL layers extend to an edge of the circuit structure and include at least one vertically-extending conductive pattern disposed adjacent to the edge of the circuit structure. The vertically-extending conductive pattern is defined, at least partially, by a plurality of elements disposed in the multiple BEOL layers. The plurality of elements are uniformly arrayed at the edge of the circuit structure in a first direction or a second direction throughout at least a portion thereof. The plurality of elements are sized and positioned in the first direction or the second direction to block electromagnetic interference of a particular wavelength from passing therethrough.

摘要: A method, software and apparatus are provided which enable a user to obtain products and services in a manner which counteracts conflicting actions modifying raw ranking data based on merchants interests. For this purpose, an information a user's web browser is provided with modules that modify search results obtained from one or more sources including directly from merchants. When the user enters a set of key words in an entry field in an on-screen form for a web server to obtain a list of items (products and/or services) of interest to the user, the search terms are modified in the users or his agents browser to reflect the interest of the user, his management or his parents. The user or his agent receives ranking information taking the highest ranked products and obtains the product information for the most highly ranked products. The browser then reranks the products using a ranking algorithm preferred by the user that offsets information sources biases in the ranking of the product information. The algorithm adds weighting factors reflecting the modified search terms. The weighting factors are combined with the mentioned ranking mechanisms to the documents to increase the probability that certain items come to the top when the search results are presented to the shopper.

摘要: A random document is stripped of the relevant search terms to generate a non-relevant document. The relevant search terms are formed into grammatically correct but not necessarily technically correct sentences. The grammatically correct sentences are placed at the beginning of the random document in one pass through the system in the middle of a document in a second pass through the system and at the end of the document in a third pass through the system. A relevancy vector chart is computed using the references documents and a known relevancy algorithm relating to position of search terms. The results obtained from search engines are compared to the relevancy vector chart to determine the relative relevancy of the returned search results from the search engines.

摘要: A data processing system has a processing unit and a memory which provides a common pool of physical storage. This storage is initially assigned as either main storage or expanded storage during power on. Subsequent to the initial assignment, storage assigned as main storage or expanded storage may be unassigned and thus returned to the common pool. Once returned to the common pool, the storage may be reassigned as either main storage or expanded storage. The storage reassignment is done dynamically without requiring a reset action and transparent to the operating system and any active application programs.

摘要: A memory reconfiguration system now allows a guest's absolute storage space to be mapped to multiple discontiguous host absolute storage space. A multi-zone relocation facility is provided for relocating multiple zones of the memory of the computer system. A control program being executed in its data processing system to reconfigure storages that are assigned to guests when sufficient real addressing capability is not available to provide a range of holes in the host absolute addressing space. Memory can be reconfigured by a control program that allows main storage, and expanded storage associated with a guest's real storage to be mapped to multiple discontiguous areas of host absolute spaces. When sufficient real addressing is not available in the host absolute addressing space it allows expansion of the host absolute storage space that maps a guest storage. The system can be used in scalar, parallel and massively parallel computer systems having plural logical processors (LPARs).
