    摘要: Techniques for determining and reporting channel quality indicator (CQI) information are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine a transmit power per channelization code, POVSF, based on the available transmit power and a designated number of channelization codes. The UE may estimate SINRs of multiple transport blocks based on POVSF, determine CQI indices for the transport blocks based on the SINRs, and send the CQI indices to a Node B. The Node B may send multiple transport blocks to the UE based on the CQI indices. The Node B may send the transport blocks (i) with the designated number of channelization codes at POVSF or (ii) with a second number of channelization codes at POVSF, with the transport block sizes being scaled based on the designated and second numbers of channelization codes.

    摘要: Techniques for transmitting data in a manner to support multi-user scheduling, multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission, and interference cancellation are described. A base station assigns multiple time segments of a transmission time interval (TTI) to at least one terminal, maps data for each terminal to at least one time segment assigned to the terminal, and spreads the data in each time segment with at least one channelization code used in the TTI. A terminal receives an assignment of at least one time segment from among multiple time segments of the TTI, obtains input samples for the at least one time segment, and despreads the input samples with the at least one channelization code used in the TTI.

    摘要: Techniques for sending signaling information are described. Multiple signaling channels may be available to send signaling information. Different signaling information, different signaling parameter values, or different interpretations of signaling parameter values may be associated with different signaling channels and conveyed by the selection of these signaling channels, which may be used for actual transmission of remaining signaling information. A transmitter selects at least one signaling channel from among the multiple signaling channels based on first signaling information and sends second signaling information on the selected signaling channel(s) to convey the first and second signaling information. The transmitter sends at least one data stream on at least one data channel in accordance with the first and second signaling information. A receiver obtains the first signaling information based on the selected signaling channel(s) and decodes the selected signaling channel(s) to obtain the second signaling information. The receiver processes the data channel(s) in accordance with the first and second signaling information to recover the data stream(s).

    摘要: Techniques for receiving a MIMO transmission are described. A receiver processes received data for the MIMO transmission based on a front-end filter to obtain filtered data. The receiver further processes the filtered data based on at least one first combiner matrix to obtain detected data for a first frame. The receiver demodulates and decodes this detected data to obtain decoded data for the first frame. The receiver then processes the filtered data based on at least one second combiner matrix and the decoded data for the first frame to cancel interference due to the first frame and obtain detected data for a second frame. The receiver processes this detected data to obtain decoded data for the second frame. The front-end filter processes non on-time signal components in the received data. Each combiner matrix combines on-time signal components in the filtered data to obtain detected data for a channelization code.

    摘要: Techniques for sending feedback information in a wireless communication system are described. In one design, precoding control indication (PCI), rank, and channel quality indication (CQI) for data transmission from a transmitter to a receiver may be determined by evaluating different hypotheses. A report may be formed based on the PCI, rank and CQI. The PCI may include a precoding matrix or vector to use for the data transmission. The CQI may include at least one CQI value for at least one transport block to send for the data transmission. The rank and CQI may be combined based on a mapping. For example, the CQI may include one CQI value and fall within a first range of values if one transport block is preferred by the receiver. The CQI may include two CQI values and fall within a second range of values if two transport blocks are preferred.

    摘要: Systems and methods according to the present invention are described for adjusting the number of taps in an adaptive equalizer over time as the rate of change of a communications channel varies. The number of taps or “equalizer length” is adjusted based on an estimate of the Doppler frequency between the devices communicating over a channel. The Doppler frequency is reflective of the rate of change of the communications channel. Greater Doppler frequencies indicate a more quickly varying channel, and vice versa. It is therefore desirable to change the equalizer length (by adding or dropping taps) based on a measurement of the Doppler frequency. Equalizer length is increased as the Doppler frequency decreases. Conversely, equalizer length is decreased as the Doppler frequency increases. This enables the equalizer to achieve a better compromise between the competing goals of adaptation speed (less taps) and ISI reduction (more taps).
