    摘要: A magnetic tape cartridge includes a cartridge casing and a single reel which is contained in the cartridge casing for rotation. A brake member of the magnetic cartridge is provided with a brake gear and is movable up and down between an operative position and a retracted position. The reel is provided with a reel gear which is brought into mesh with a drive gear of a tape drive mechanism and a through hole through which a push rod extending from a brake release member projects to be brought into abutment against the drive gear of the tape drive mechanism so that the brake release member moves the brake member to the retracted position. The through hole opens in an area which is slightly wider than tips of teeth of the reel gear, wherein the area includes a pair of opposed flanks of the reel gear which form a valley.

    摘要: Embodiments of an electrical/electronic unit display system are described, which embodiments feature a dual-use for the port area of an electronic unit's exterior surface. Whereas a port area is normally used only for insertion of a cartridge or other data-storage container to cooperate with a data-retrieval drive, such as a reader or recorder, the invented system adapts the port area to also be used for display of information regarding the electronic unit and/or the cartridge itself. An exterior or otherwise-visible surface of the cartridge may be used for display, when the cartridge is in the port, the visible surface being readily observed by the equipment operator. Alternatively, the exterior or other visible surface of the port door may be used for display. The displays may be active, as in instrument faces built into the door and/or the cassette/cartridge. Or, the displays may be passive, as in a screen provided on the door and/or cassette/cartridge that reflects or transmits an image generated remotely by a prism or other transmitter. This way, the space required by the cassette, port or door may be effectively utilized also as a display, permitting the unit's “faceprint” to be minimized.

    摘要: Techniques are disclosed for converting data into a format tailored for efficient multidimensional fast Fourier transforms (FFTS) on single instruction, multiple data (SIMD) multi-core processor architectures. The technique includes converting data from a multidimensional array stored in a conventional row-major order into SIMD format. Converted data in SIMD format consists of a sequence of blocks, where each block interleaves s rows such that SIMD vector processors may operate on s rows simultaneously. As a result, the converted data in SIMD format enables smaller-sized 1D FFTs to be optimized in SIMD multi-core processor architectures.
