Abstract:
A new and distinct cultivar of Lavender plant named ‘Belrou’, characterized by its upright, somewhat outwardly spreading and mounded plant habit; freely branching habit, dense and bushy plant form; vigorous growth habit; and violet-colored flowers with light pink-colored terminal flower bracts.
Abstract:
A new and distinct cultivar of Lavender plant named ‘Coccap’, characterized by its compact, upright, outwardly spreading and mounded plant habit; freely branching habit, dense and bushy plant form; early flowering habit; and red purple-colored flowers with light pink-colored terminal flower bracts.
Abstract:
A composite particulate pigmentary material is disclosed which comprises an association of at least two chemically distinct materials in which the particles of one material carry a positive surface charge and the particles of the second material carry a negative surface charge and particles are held in association as a result of these surface charges. Also disclosed is a method for preparing composite particulate pigmentary material comprising forming aqueous dispersions of two particulate materials under conditions in which the surface charges of the particles of the two materials are of different signs and mixing the dispersions. Typical materials useful for preparing the composite include inorganic pigments, fillers and extenders and organic polymeric microspheres. The product is useful as a pigment in, for example, paints, inks, paper and plastics.
Abstract:
A process for the production of a suspension of nuclei has been developed in which an aqueous mixture of titanium tetrachloride, aluminium ions and hydroxyl ions is cured at at temperature of from 50.degree. to the boiling point. The pH of the suspension before or after curing has a value of from 6.5 to 10.5. The aqueous mixture is prepared by mixing a solution of titanium tetrachloride with a solution of a base, e.g. sodium hydroxide and aluminium hydroxide. When used to nucleate hydrolysis in the "sulphate" process a large crystal size anatase pigment is produced.
Abstract:
A disc mower which is silent in operation and simple to maintain. The mower comprises a casing (1) on top of which is mounted at least one pair of rotatable cutter discs (8) driven by a belt transmission (9) housed within the casing (1). The casing (1) has a base portion (3) and an upper portion (2) hingedly connected together along one edge and releasably secured together by a plurality of skids (33-37) which in use are contactable with the ground to support the mower.
Abstract:
A mower-conditioner for agricultural use employing one or more rotatably mounted drum type cutter units, each of which supports at least one cutter blade for cutting standing crop by impact under conditions where the drums are rotated about generally upright axes. A frame assembly is provided on which a crop conditioner is mounted for receiving severed crop material as it is being conveyed rearwardly by the cutter units.
Abstract:
A new and distinctive Rhaphiolepis indica plant, characterized by its attractive colored newly emerged immature leaf color corresponding to grayed orange (RHS 177B-C), combined with a well branched, bushy plant growth habit and white flowers produced late winter to spring. The new plant is a Rhaphiolepis, normally useful as a landscape plant.
Abstract:
A new and distinct Lavandula cultivar named ‘LAMPU31-0’ is disclosed, characterized by long inflorescences composed of light purple infertile bracts and dark purple flowers. Plants begin flowering and are distinctively upright in habit and resist lodging. The new variety is a Lavandula, normally produced as an outdoor garden or container plant.
Abstract:
A new and distinct Lavandula cultivar named ‘LMARO32-0’ is disclosed, characterized by a long red-purple terminal bracts. Plants are typically upright in growth habit, strong and begin flowering early. The new variety is a Lavandula, normally produced as an outdoor garden or container plant.
Abstract:
A colored composition comprising: a) NIR scattering TiO2 particulate material with an average crystal size of greater than 0.40 μm and a particle size distribution such that 30% or more of the particles are less than 1 μm; b) one or more non-white colorant; wherein the particulate material and the non-white colorant are dispersed within a vehicle. This material with a large crystal size has unusually high reflection of NIR radiation and, simultaneously, noticeably diminished reflectance of visible light. Also disclosed is a coated particulate TiO2 material, wherein the material has an average crystal size of greater than 0.40 μm, and the coating comprises one or more oxide material; this provides low levels of photocatalytic activity that were previously unattainable. This coated TiO2 material may be provided in a composition.
