    摘要: An optical recording medium storing information for regarding data in the current sector as data in a linking loss area, and an apparatus and method providing linking data. The data link method includes dividing an error correction code block having a predetermined size into a plurality of sectors and checking data type identification information which indicates whether or not data in each sector is linking data; and replacing main data of a sector with predetermined data according to the result of checking the data type identification information. According to the above method, data type information is checked to determine whether or not to replace main data of the current sector with dummy data. By doing so, error occurrence of the prior art can be prevented and block error correction is carried out more effectively.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for tracking error detection in an optical disk reproduction system. The tracking error detecting apparatus generates a tracking error signal as a difference signal of optical detection signals generated by more than two optical detectors positioned along a diagonal line from a track center and includes binarizers which binarize each output of the optical detectors, phase locked loops (PLLs) which generate respective clock signals synchronized with the outputs of each of the binarizers, a phase difference detector which detects a phase difference between the synchronized signals output from the PLLs, and low-pass filters which filter the output of the phase difference detector to output the result as the tracking error signal. The tracking error detecting apparatus generates a tracking error signal which is not dependent on the lengths of pits or marks recorded on an optical disk, enhancing the reliability of the tracking error signal.

    摘要: An optical recording medium storing information for regarding data in the current sector as data in a linking loss area, and an apparatus and method providing linking data. A synthesizer synthesizes the digitized detection signals and generates therefrom synthesis signals. A phase difference detector compares phases of the synthesis signals and outputs a first phase difference signal and a second phase difference signal. A matrix circuit processes the first and second phase difference signals to output the differential phase signal.

    摘要: A swing-arm type optical recording and reproducing apparatus and an optical disk applicable to the same. The optical disk includes a substrate having an information recording surface to record and reproduce an information signal, and a protective layer which is provided on the information recording surface and whose surface facing a slider is a flat even surface so that variations in a floating height of the slider can be reduced. The optical recording and reproducing apparatus further includes, an optical head having a light source provided at a swing arm to emit light of a predetermined wavelength; an optical path changing means provided in the optical path of the light emitted from the light source for changing the proceeding path of incident light; a collimating lens installed at the slider to preliminarily converge the light emitted from the light source and entering via the optical path changing means; an objective lens installed at the slider to converge the light which is emitted from the light source and enters via the optical path changing means to form an optical spot on the optical disk; and a photodetector to receive the light which is reflected from the optical disk and enters via the objective lens, the collimating lens, and the optical path changing means. The optical head detects an information signal and an error signal in order to reduce defocus due to variations in ambient temperature and variations in the wavelength of the light of the light source.

    摘要: An optical recording and reproducing apparatus for adjusting a tilt of an optical pickup in accordance with an amount of jitter of a reproduction signal, a tilt adjusting method therefor, and a recording control method. The optical recording and reproducing apparatus includes an optical pickup having an object lens, a tilt adjusting unit for adjusting a tilt angle of the object lens, a jitter detecting unit for detecting an amount of jitter of a reproducing signal generated by the optical pickup from a disk, and a tilt controlling unit for minimizing the amount of jitter by feeding the amount of jitter detected by the jitter detecting unit back to the tilt adjusting unit. According to the optical recording and reproducing apparatus, there is no need for a space in which a displacement sensor detecting the tilt angle of the optical pickup faces the disk.
