摘要: A content playback apparatus reduces load concentration on a specific server apparatus that manages content keys of encrypted content, while protecting copyrights of the content. The content apparatus makes playback of content recorded in a recording medium sold possible after the specific server breaks down. A key acquisition control unit (204) reads a playback control information table (211) from a recording medium (102) via a reading unit (201). The key acquisition unit (204) acquires a rights key via a key acquisition intermediation unit (223) from an apparatus specified by an acquisition-destination type and a request-destination type that are stored in the playback control information table (211) and that corresponding to the content to be played. The key acquisition unit (204) generates a content key using the acquired rights key and, when required, a medium key recorded in a medium. A decryption unit (203) decrypts encrypted content using the content key.

摘要: A content management system formed from a playback apparatus that requests and plays content, and a content management apparatus that manages duplication and deletion of content. The playback apparatus notifies group information of the playback apparatus to the content management apparatus, acquires information from the content management apparatus showing whether requests are permitted, and duplicates/deletes content. By judging whether the playback apparatus belongs to a group, and notifying whether a duplication request is permitted or rejected, based on in-group and out-group remaining numbers that show the remaining number of duplications permitted of apparatuses in-group and out-group, respectively, the content management apparatus relaxes restrictions on in-group content duplication as compared with out-group content duplication, and thus improves convenience for users in a home network, while protecting the rights of copyright holders, with respect to content duplication and usage.

摘要: A method for simply and efficiently separating substances by utilizing a specific flow behavior in a non-turbulent flow, i.e. a laminar flow, in a micro-channel is disclosed. A mixed solution containing at least two kinds of solute molecules which are different from each other in molecular weight and/or molecular sharp, or at least two kinds of solutions containing their respective solute molecules are flowed into a micro-channel to form a non-turbulent flow. A physical action is given to each molecule by changing the state of flow, thereby causing different behaviors among the different solute molecules. By utilizing this behavior difference, molecules of a specific kind are gathered in a specific region in the channel for separation.

摘要: An optical disk changer system including an optical disk changer with magazines for storage. The disk changer can insert/draw optical disks in each magazine and manages data on a set of optical disks singularly, or by a plurality of optical disks, as a volume having a series of logical addresses. Volume management means identifies unused magazines storing unused optical disks. Volume creation information means receives data on the number of optical disks or magazines required to create the volume. Volume creation management means allows identification of the storage position information of unused optical disks to create a volume including optical disks from the volume creation information input means.

摘要: The control unit of a computer system comprises a first storing device for holding written data while the power is on, a second storing device for holding the written data, even when the power is off and a power-off preserving device for terminating power to the system after transferring the data held in the first storing device to the second storing device. The control system can be utilized to only store the effective contents of the operating data to thereby enable data reconstruction upon resumption of power. The control device can interface with a window system processing device which can enable the refreshing of graphic display information upon resumption of power. The second storing device may have limited memory capacity and the operator can be informed of its capacity prior to a final shut-off of power. The control unit can further identify those programs that are not capable of being restored to their original condition and accordingly canceling any program execution when such a condition is judged.

摘要: In a driving apparatus for a hybrid vehicle, a travel motor is provided on a rear end of the power unit such that power from the travel motor is transmitted to a differential mechanism from a motor shaft via a gear train and a pinion shaft. Further, an engine is provided on a front end of the power unit, and a generator is provided in the center of the power unit. The engine and the generator are coupled via a gear train, and a generator shaft is disposed above a crankshaft. Thus, a space can be secured below the generator so that the pinion shaft can be disposed below the generator.
