    摘要: A variable displacement compressor that decreases displacement to reduce compression load without imbalancing the rotation of the drive shaft when the rotating speed of the compressor's drive shaft exceeds a predetermined limit value. The compressor includes a pressurizing passage connecting a crank chamber to a discharge chamber. A rotated guide rotates integrally with the drive shaft. The pressurizing passage is opened and closed by a valve body. Orbiting balls, which contact the valve body, are arranged about the axis of the drive shaft and the rotated guide. The balls follow the rotation of the rotated guide and orbit about the axis. The orbiting radius of the balls varies. A spring urges the balls in a direction decreasing the orbiting radius of the balls. When the rotating speed of the drive shaft exceeds the limit value, centrifugal force moves the balls against the force of the spring and increases the orbiting diameter of the balls. This moves the valve body and increases the size of the pressurizing passage.

    摘要: A valve housing has a communication passage communicating a suction port of the compressor with a crank chamber of the compressor. A valve element opens and closes the communication passage, and a spring member resiliently biases the valve element toward the closed position. A pressure actuated unit moves the valve element toward the open position by a suction pressure of the compressor. The spring member includes a spring made of a temperature responsive material. The spring decreases in its resilient force in an opening direction of the valve element with increase of an outer-air temperature. The spring member has a primary spring made of an ordinary resilient material for resiliently biasing the valve element toward the closed position and a correction spring made of a material having a temperature positive characteristic. The correction spring provides a correction spring force smaller than a primary force of the primary spring in the opposite direction to the primary force. The combined spring force of the primary spring and the correction spring acting on the valve element.

An outlet valve portion located on the bleed passage to control the opening of the bleed passage. An inlet valve portion is located on the supply passage to control the opening of the supply passage. A transmission rod extends between the outlet valve portion and the inlet valve portion to connect the outlet valve portion to the inlet valve portion. The transmission rod moves axially. A through hole is located in the inlet valve portion to receive a part of the transmission rod. The through hole constitutes a part of the supply passage. A clearance is formed between the transmission rod and the through hole to constantly connect the discharge pressure zone to the crank chamber.

    摘要: A variable displacement compressor includes a bleed passage for releasing gas from a crank chamber to a suction chamber and a supply passage for supplying gas from a discharge chamber to the crank chamber. A control valve includes an outlet valve mechanism located in the bleed passage and an inlet valve mechanism located in the supply passage. When the inlet valve mechanism is in the open state, the outlet valve mechanism is in the closed state. An outlet valve body of the outlet valve mechanism has a communication passage. When the outlet valve mechanism is in the closed state, the communication passage is opened to communicate the crank chamber with the suction chamber. Therefore, when the compressor is operating at the minimum displacement, a gas circuit is positively formed within the compressor, and atomized lubricant in refrigerant gas positively lubricates the moving parts of the compressor.

The compressor includes a discharge chamber, a suction chamber and a supply passage, which connects the discharge chamber to the crank chamber. The control valve regulates the supply passage. The control valve includes a valve body, a spool and a solenoid. The valve body adjusts the size of an opening in the supply passage. The spool moves the valve body in accordance with the difference between the pressure in the discharge chamber and the pressure in the suction chamber. The solenoid urges the valve body by a force, the magnitude of which corresponds to a supply of electricity. The urging force of the solenoid represents a target value of the pressure difference. The spool moves the valve body such that the pressure difference seeks the target value. The control valve, which is located in the compressor, permits the compressor displacement to be accurately controlled regardless of a thermal load on an evaporator.

    摘要: A variable displacement compressor is operated efficiently by avoiding inefficient conditions. The compressor varies its displacement using a control valve for which an external duty control procedure is performed. A target value for controlling the displacement is determined in accordance with the duty ratio Dt of a drive signal sent to the control valve. If the duty ratio Dt is equal to or greater than a predetermined reference value DJ, the displacement is permitted to be varied corresponding to the duty ratio Dt. If the duty ratio Dt is smaller than the reference value DJ, the variable displacement control through the duty control procedure is suspended. In this case, the compressor is operated with a nullified duty ratio (Dt=0), or a minimum displacement.
