    摘要: A data communication apparatus based on digital image processing includes a display that displays a color block array including color blocks corresponding to transmission data. The data communication apparatus also includes a camera that captures an image of a color block array displayed on a display of a transmitting side, and a storage that stores a code table including information about colors mapped to data values. The data communication apparatus further includes a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) that creates a color block array by converting transmission data to color blocks according to the code table during data transmission, identifies the color block array in the image captured by the camera, detects colors of color blocks in the color block array, and extracts data values corresponding to the detected colors during data reception.

The method includes determining a time interval for a simultaneous signal and a time interval for an individual signal of information to be displayed on a display device; simultaneously modulating output signals of three Red-Green-Blue (RGB) Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) making up one pixel, and transferring the modulated information to the display device; individually modulating output signals of the three RGB LEDs and transferring the modulated information to the display device; and displaying the modulated information for any selected one of the time interval for the simultaneous signal and the time interval for the individual signal.

    摘要: A method for maintaining the mode-locked state of a Fabry-Perot (FP) laser and a WDM light source using the same method for use in WDM optical communication are disclosed. The mode-locked state can be maintained irrespective of temperature change, without use of a temperature controller, by spectrum-slicing the incoherent light generated by a light source element and injecting the spectrum-sliced light to the FP laser, then the FP laser amplifies and outputs only a lasing mode coinciding with the wavelength of the injected light, wherein a lasing-mode interval of the FP laser is set to be less than a 3 dB linewidth of the injected light, so that at least one lasing mode exists inside the 3 dB linewidth of the injected light irrespective of changes in external temperature.

    摘要: A reflective semiconductor optical amplifier light source is disclosed. The reflective semiconductor optical amplifier light source includes a transmissive type semiconductor optical amplifier for creating and amplifying spontaneous emission light, a reflector for reflecting amplified spontaneous emission light outputted from the semiconductor optical amplifier such that amplified spontaneous emission light is reflected back into the semiconductor optical amplifier, and a bandpass filter having a predetermined wavelength band width for limiting wavelength bands of the amplified spontaneous emission light capable of passing through the bandpass filter. In one aspect of the invention, the bandpass filter is interposed between the semiconductor optical amplifier and the reflector. In another aspect, a polarization filter is imposed to limit the reflected emission light to a predetermined polarization.
