Abstract: Provided is an image forming apparatus that can execute direct printing including authentication when a cooperation platform authenticates with substituting the device. It is connected to an external authentication server via a network. The image forming apparatus has an application and a direct print port. The application works on a specific platform. The direct print port is virtually-provided in the application. The application receives a job of the direct printing in the virtually-provided direct print port from an external terminal via the network. Then, the application instructs to authenticate to the authentication server based on certification information included in data of the job. The application, when authenticated, transmits print data to an actual direct print port.

Abstract: A pull printing system according to one aspect of the disclosure includes a server computer, a manager image forming apparatus, and a client image forming apparatus. The manager image forming apparatus includes a manager-side print execution unit that executes a print job received to a first port number, a job management unit that manages the print job received to a second port number different from the first port number in association with the user, and a job transmitting unit. The job transmitting unit transmits the print job associated with a user authenticated by the server computer to the client image forming apparatus among the print job managed by the job management unit.

Abstract: Upon startup of an OS, the present invention obtains an entry of a StatusMonitor key from all printer driver setting information subscribed in a registry by means of a subscriber (S0), and if a value thereof is 1, obtains an entry of a key including “Notification”. If a value of an array element 0 indicates activation of notification, the present invention obtains a character string of an array element 1 as an event type, and makes a Subscribe request to an image forming apparatus (S3). The present invention stores a subscription ID being returned, and makes an Unsubscribe request to the image forming apparatus for all subscription IDs thus stored, upon shut-down of the OS.

The image forming apparatus prints print job data transmitted from the mobile terminal apparatus, generates a first event message including a status code, its attribute information, and a device token of the mobile terminal apparatus in the print job data, and transmits it to the provider. The provider generates a second event message including the device token in a record, registered in a subscription table and matching a status type code of the status code in the first event message and the device token, and the status code in the first event message, and transmits it to the push notification server. The push notification server transmits the second event message to the mobile terminal apparatus of the device token in the second event message.
