    摘要: The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display and a manufacturing method thereof. The liquid crystal display includes a first substrate, a plurality of gate lines and data lines disposed on the first substrate and crossing each other to define a plurality of pixels, a plurality of thin film transistors connected to the gate lines and the data lines, a plurality of color filters disposed on the thin film transistors, a partition to divide the color filters, a plurality of pixel electrodes connected to the thin film transistors, a second substrate facing the first substrate, a common electrode disposed on the second substrate, the common electrode forming a liquid crystal capacitor and a storage capacitor along with the pixel electrode, and a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. Each pixel includes a display region where the pixel electrode and the color filter overlap each other, and a storage region where the pixel electrode and the common electrode form the storage capacitor, and the thin film transistor and the pixel electrode are connected to each other in the storage region.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a display apparatus with pixels, wherein each pixel includes a switching device, a micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS), and a gray scale control device. The switching device can be connected to a gate line and a data line to output a corresponding data signal in response to a gate signal. The MEMS may be connected to an output electrode of the switching device to transmit or block light in response to the corresponding data signal. The gray scale control device may be coupled to the output electrode of the switching device to control a time interval during which the corresponding data signal is applied to the MEMS. Accordingly, each pixel may display a desired gray scale.

    摘要: A display substrate includes a thin-film transistor (TFT) layer, a color filter layer and a pixel electrode formed on a substrate. The TFT layer includes a gate line, a data line electrically insulated from the gate line and extending in a direction different from the gate line, a TFT electrically connected to the gate line and the data line, and a storage electrode formed from the same layer as the gate line in each pixel. The color filter layer includes a storage hole extending to a portion of the TFT layer corresponding to the storage electrode. The storage hole has a horizontal cross-sectional area greater than the storage electrode, wherein the horizontal cross-sectional area is measured in a plane parallel to the substrate. The pixel electrode is formed on the color filter layer and in the storage hole to form a storage capacitor with the storage electrode.
