    Abstract: The present invention relates to a wireless power transmitting device. The wireless power transmitting device comprises a transmitter coil section with a plurality of partially overlapping transmitter coils; a fan for cooling heat generated by the transmitter coil section; and a controller for sending out a detection signal through the transmitter coil section, calculating the number of operating coils based on the strength of a response signal to the detection signal, and controlling the fan based on the calculated number of operating coils. Accordingly, heat generated by the transmitter coils can be reduced more efficiently.

    Abstract: A wireless power transmission apparatus can include a resonant circuit including a plurality of coils and a plurality of capacitor elements respectively connected to the plurality of coils; a first sensor configured to sense a change in inductance of each of the plurality of coils; a second sensor configured to sense a change in a quality factor of each of the plurality of coils; and a controller configured to calculate feature values based on an inductance variation and a quality factor variation for detecting a foreign object, and determine the foreign object is present on a charging surface of the wireless power transmission apparatus based on whether a feature value combination selected from among the feature values falls within a reference region on a coordinate plane formed by an intersection of a first axis and a second axis, in which the first axis is based on inductance variation and the second axis is based on quality factor variation.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a display system including: a display apparatus; a wireless power reception apparatus configured to supply power to the display apparatus; and a wireless power transmission apparatus configured to emit a laser beam toward the wireless power reception module, wherein the wireless power reception module is formed as a bar type; and the wireless power transmission module comprises a light source configured to emit light of a specific wavelength as a laser beam, and a light shaping unit configured to shape the light of the light source and to convert the shaped light into a laser beam having a different cross-section and output the laser beam. Accordingly, by performing wireless power transmission using laser light, which satisfies the electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements, wireless power may be transmitted to high-quality wall-mounted TVs and AV devices.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for supporting heterogeneous communication in a wireless power transmission system. The present disclosure discloses a wireless power receiver comprising: a power pickup unit configured to receive, from a wireless power transmitter, a digital ping signal or wireless power by magnetically coupling with the wireless power transmitter at an operating frequency, and to convert an alternating current signal generated by the wireless power into a direct current signal; a communication/control unit configured to receive the direct current signal from the power pickup unit, and to perform at least one of an in-band communication using the operating frequency and an out-band communication using a frequency other than the operating frequency; and a load configured to receive the direct current signal from the power pickup unit. As a heterogeneous communication protocol can be selected at an early stage of power transmission between the wireless power transmitter and the wireless power receiver, it is possible to support various applications of wireless power transmission.
