摘要： Described herein is a composition comprising an aqueous polymerization reaction product of fluorinated monomers and wherein the polymerization is initiated (i) in the absence of a fluorinated emulsifier and whereby no fluorinated emulsifier is added during polymerization or (ii) in the presence of an fluorinated emulsifier selected from: [Rf—O-L-COO-]i Xi+ (I) wherein L represents a linear or branched, non-fluorinated, partially fluorinated, or fully fluorinated alkylene group, Rf represents a linear or branched partially or fully fluorinated aliphatic group or a linear or branched partially or fully fluorinated aliphatic group interrupted with at least one oxygen atom, Xi+ represents a cation having the valence i and i is 1, 2 or 3; wherein the reaction product and/or the resulting aqueous phase are substantially free of di- and tri-alkylamines and substantially free of low molecular weight fluoroorganic compounds and methods thereof.

摘要： There is provided a fluoroelastomer characterized by containing one type or more types of fluorinated emulsifiers represented by the formula: F—(CF2)t-[O(CF2)n]m-O—(CHF)o-(CF2)p-X where m=0 to 3; n=1 to 5; o=0 to 1; p=1 to 3; t=1 to 10; and where when t=2 than o≠0; and further where X is selected from a group consisting of a carboxyl acid group and a salt of a carboxylic acid group. A method for preparing fluoroelastomers by using such fluorinated emulsifiers in emulsion polymerization of fluoromonomers and articles containing such fluoroelastomers are also provided. A fluorinated elastomer dispersion including an aqueous mixture of a crosslinkable fluorinated elastomer and such fluorinated emulsifiers are also provided. The fluoroelastomers created with such fluorinated emulsifiers are essentially free of cations other than NH4+ and H+ and have a low glass transition temperature.

摘要： A method of making a fluoropolymer dispersion by first providing a fluoropolymer dispersion comprising fluoropolymer particles and one or more fluorinated surfactants selected from fluorinated carboxylic acids or salts thereof having the general formula: [Rf—O-L-COO−]iXi+  (I) wherein L represents a linear fully fluorinated alkylene group, Rf represents a linear partially or fully fluorinated aliphatic group or a linear partially or fully fluorinated aliphatic group interrupted with one oxygen atom, Xi+ represents a cation having the valence i and i is 1, 2 or 3; then adding one or more non-fluorinated surfactants selected from anionic and non-ionic surfactants followed by reducing the total amount of the one or more fluorinated surfactants to an amount of not more than 500 ppm, for example not more than 250 ppm based on the total weight of the dispersion while maintaining or increasing the amount of solids in the dispersion.

摘要： Method of making fluoropolymers by emulsion polymerization of one or more fluorinated monomers in an aqueous phase in the presence of a fluorinated emulsifier, said method comprises adding a doping agent in a weight ratio with respect to the emulsifier of from about 1:2 to about 1:20, said doping agent has a melting point of equal or less than 30° C. and a boiling point of at least about 100° C. and is selected from the group consisting of fluorinated cyclic hydrocarbons, fluorinated polyoxyalkenes, fluorinated alkenes and fluorinated polyoxyalkenes.
