    Abstract: A vehicular interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror casing and a reflective element, with the mirror casing adjustably supported at a mirror mount at an interior surface of the vehicle. The mirror casing includes a principal mirror casing portion and a pivotable mirror casing portion that is pivotable relative to the principal mirror casing portion. The reflective element is accommodated at the principal mirror casing portion. An upper portion of the pivotable mirror casing portion is integrally joined with the principal mirror casing portion at an upper region of the principal mirror casing portion. A spring element is coupled to the pivotable mirror casing portion and to a lower region of the principal mirror casing portion. The spring element flexes to adjust an angle of the principal mirror casing portion and the reflective element relative to the pivotable mirror casing portion of the mirror casing.

    Abstract: An interior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror mount configured to attach at an interior portion of the vehicle. A mirror head includes a mirror casing and a mirror reflective element. The mirror mount includes a ball element and the mirror head includes a socket element, which pivotally attaches at the ball element forming a ball and socket joint to pivotally mount the mirror head at the mirror mount. The mirror head has a thickness dimension spanning between a front planar surface of said mirror reflective element and a rear surface of a laterally sideward region of the mirror casing, with the thickness dimension being less than 20 mm. A central region of the mirror casing has a thickness dimension greater than 20 mm to accommodate the socket element. The socket element is disposed at an aperture through the central region of the mirror casing.

    Abstract: An exterior rearview mirror assembly configured for mounting at an exterior portion of a vehicle includes a mounting arm configured for attachment at the vehicle, a mirror head disposed at an end of the mounting arm and movable relative to the mounting arm, and an electrically operated actuator operable to move the mirror head relative to the mounting arm. The mirror head includes a mirror reflective element that, when the actuator is electrically operated, moves in tandem with the mirror head. The actuator, with the mounting arm attached at the exterior portion of the vehicle, and when the actuator is electrically operated, moves the mirror head relative to the mounting arm to vertically and horizontally adjust a rearward field of view of a driver of the vehicle who is viewing the mirror reflective element.

    Abstract: An interior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror head having a mirror casing and a mirror reflective element, and a mirror mounting structure configured to adjustably mount the mirror head at an interior portion of a vehicle. A receiving portion of the mirror head is configured for receiving a portable self-contained garage door opening module at least partially thereat. The module is operable to wirelessly transmit a radio frequency signal responsive to actuation of a user input of the module. With the module at the receiving portion of the mirror head, the user input is accessible by the vehicle driver. A cover element is configured to detachably attach at the mirror casing at the receiving portion to releasably secure the module at the mirror head, with the module being releasable from the mirror head when the cover element is detached from the mirror casing.

The reflective element comprises a wedge-shaped glass substrate having a perimeter edge about a periphery of the glass substrate and extending between first and second surfaces thereof. The glass substrate has a mirror reflector established at the second surface. A front surface of the perimeter edge provides a smooth curved transition at the perimeter edge between a perimeter region of the first surface and the mirror casing. The front surface of the perimeter edge is rounded with a radius of curvature of at least about 2.5 mm. No portion of the mirror casing encompasses the first surface of the glass substrate.

    Abstract: A portable electronic device includes a housing and a glass cover panel having a generally planar central region and a rounded or curved perimeter region circumscribing the generally planar central region. The portable electronic device includes circuitry disposed in the housing and operable to detect a touch or proximity of a user at the glass cover panel at the generally planar central region. The rounded perimeter region has an exposed rounded surface circumscribing the generally planar central region and the housing does not overlap the rounded perimeter region of the glass cover panel. The rounded perimeter region may have a radius of curvature of greater than about 0.5 mm. The rounded perimeter region provides a smooth curved transition between a generally planar front surface of the generally planar central region of the glass cover panel and a side surface of the housing of the portable electronic device.
