摘要: An asynchronous fuel injection control method for engines where the amount of increase of air sucked into the cylinder of the engine corresponding to the variation of the throttle angle is estimated on the basis of a physical model formula expressing the amount of the sucked air in the cylinder, and a pulse width according to which the fuel is injected by the asynchronous injection into the engine is determined on the basis of the estimated amount of increase of the sucked air.

摘要: In a system for controlling the flow rate of water supplied in a multi-pump water supply system which includes a pond or reservoir for the water, a first characteristic curve representing the cumulative values of predicted load flow rates over a period of time and a second characteristic curve representing the sum of the cumulative values and the capacity of the pond are generated. Operation routes restricted as to the number of pump change-over operations are then sought so that the routes pass through the region between the first and second characteristic curves and the gradient of the portion of each operation route is changed when the operation route crosses with the first or second characteristic curve. Among the operation routes sought, there is selected an optimum operation route which has the most suitable evaluation function from the point of view of energy consumption and efficiency. The pumps are then controlled in number in response to the selected operation route.

摘要: Density correction method capable of performing density correction at high speed with high precision. In a printing apparatus adopting this method, a predetermined test pattern image is printed on a printing medium, the printed test pattern image is optically read by a sensor at first resolution, the quality of the read image is evaluated, based on the evaluation result the printed test pattern image is optically read by the sensor at second resolution higher than the first resolution, and correction data is generated based on the read test pattern image.

摘要: The outermost surface protection layer of the heater of an ink-jet recording head containing at least metal or oxide thereof is protected against erosion by suppressing or preventing the dissolution of the outermost surface protection layer. The heater is adapted to apply thermal energy to a liquid composition to be ejected. The liquid composition contains a liquid medium, alkali metal ions and a compound expressed by general formula H2N—(CHY)n—(CH2)m—X, X representing a carboxyl group or a sulfonic acid group, Y representing a hydrogen atom, a carboxyl group or a sulfonic acid group, n representing 0 or 1, m representing an integer from 0 to 2. The liquid composition is heated so as to satisfy the relation as defined by the formula 1.10≦Eop/Eth≦1.90, Eop representing the amount of energy applied to the heater per unit time in order to cause the recording head to eject the liquid composition, Eth representing the minimum amount of energy required by the recording head per unit time to eject ink.
