摘要: In a solid state radiation detector provided with a sub stripe electrode, an S/N ratio is improved. In an electrostatic recording medium, a first current detection circuit is connected to each line electrode of a stripe electrode and a second current detection circuit is connected to each line electrode of a sub stripe electrode. Upon retrieving an electrostatic latent image, electric currents flowing on the respective line electrodes are detected. In addition, signal synthesizing means synthesizes a signal detected by the first current detection circuit and a signal inverted from a signal detected by the second current detection circuit.

摘要: In a disk drive device comprising an optical head having a movable part including a lens for focusing a light spot on a track of an optical disk and a photodetector which receives the light reflected from the track and provides a photoelectric conversion signal, a head actuator moves the movable part in a radial direction of the optical disk when the optical head accesses the tracks of the optical disk, and a motion detection means receives the photoelectric conversion signal and outputs a track-traverse motion signal representing the track-traverse motion of the light spot. An acceleration detecting means detects the acceleration of the head actuator. A target velocity generating means generates a track-traversing target velocity determined by the output of acceleration detecting means and the photoelectric conversion signal. A state-observer means receives the output signals from the acceleration detecting means and the motion detecting means, and outputs an estimated track-traverse velocity of the light spot. A head actuator drive circuit controls the head actuator such that the estimated velocity coincides with the target velocity.

摘要: A photographic emulsion coating on a travelling web 1 is irradiated by microwave energy propogated through a slotted, undulating waveguide 5 to condense or concentrate the coating by evaporating a significant percentage of its water content, thereby shortening the overall drying time for a given coating rate. A forced flow of air and/or other gases is established through apertures 9 in the waveguide under controlled temperature and humidity conditions, and the internal heating effected by the microwaves prevents the formation of a surface film which might impede subsequent drying.

摘要: In a multilayer optical disc having information layers conforming to a plurality of different optical disc standards, because the type of each information layer is not recorded in the other information layers, every time the information layer being accessed changes, it has been necessary to read the type of the information layer and select a method of generating a tracking error signal adapted to the type of information layer, so access has taken time. In order to solve the above problem, in the optical multilayer disc according to the present invention, having information layers conforming to a plurality of different optical disc standards, in an area in one of the information layers, information about the other information layers is recorded. The time required to access the other information layers can be reduced by using this information to select a tracking error signal generating method.

摘要: Edge portions of detection electrodes, such as a first linear electrode and a second linear electrode, that include the side surfaces of the detection electrodes and parts of surfaces of the detection electrodes, the surfaces continuing from the side surfaces and facing a photoconductive layer for recording, are covered with dielectrics. Further, surfaces of the detection electrodes and the dielectrics are coated with an anti-crystallization layer to prevent crystallization of a photoconductive layer for readout. At this time, the surfaces of the electrodes are smoothly covered with the dielectrics at angles θ of contact of 5 to 60 degrees so that no bump is present, thereby preventing generation of a crack in the anti-crystallization layer on the dielectrics and the electrodes. Accordingly, crystallization of the photoconductive layer for readout, which is induced by injection of charges from the edge portions of the detection electrodes or the like, is prevented.
