Abstract:
Thermal printing systems, thermal printers and methods for printing are provided. A print order is received at a printer driving device. The printer driving device forms a set of page data streams. Each page data stream comprises image data representing one image from the print order in a format that can be used by a printer. The printer prints images by transferring donor material for patches of donor material from a donor ribbon onto a receiver medium. The printer is operable to print images in a manner that exhausts a full donor patch set or fractional donor patch set. Printing is performed using donor material from a fractional donor patch set when it is determined at the printer that an image from a page data stream can be printed using a fractional donor patch set and when it is determined that a fractional donor patch set is available for printing.
Abstract:
Termicidal compositions comprising bifenthrin and acetamiprid are disclosed. The compositions provide a combination of properties not exhibited by either active ingredient when used alone.
Abstract:
Compounds are provided that act as potent antagonists of the CCR2 receptor. Animal testing demonstrates that these compounds are useful for treating inflammation, a hallmark disease for CCR2. The compounds are generally aryl sulfonamide derivatives and are useful in pharmaceutical compositions, methods for the treatment of CCR2-mediated diseases, and as controls in assays for the identification of CCR2 antagonists.
Abstract:
Compositions and methods are provided for preparation of concentrated stock solutions of AAV virions without aggregation. Formulations for AAV preparation and storage are high ionic strength solutions (e.g. μ˜500 mM) that are nonetheless isotonic with the intended target tissue. This combination of high ionic strength and modest osmolarity is achieved using salts of high valency, such as sodium citrate. AAV stock solutions up to 6.4×1013 vg/mL are possible using the formulations of the invention, with no aggregation being observed even after ten freeze-thaw cycles. The surfactant Pluronic® F68 may be added at 0.001% to prevent losses of virions to surfaces during handling. Virion preparations can also be treated with nucleases to eliminate small nucleic acid strands on virions surfaces that exacerbate aggregation.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for compression molding plastic articles include a plurality of tools mounted in opposed pairs with the tools of each pair including opposed first and second actuators that define a mold cavity in which a charge of plastic is compression molded. The tooling is preferably carried by a rotary turret so that first and second actuators of each tooling pair are moveable relative to each other between an open position permitting formed articles to be removed from the tooling and to receive fresh charges of plastic, and a closed position to compression mold the charges of plastic.
Abstract:
A manufacturing facility and method for assembling a railway car having a composite box structure mounted on a railway car underframe are provided. The composite box structure may be defined in part by exterior metal sheets, side stakes attached to the exterior metal sheets, insulating materials disposed between the side stakes and the exterior metal sheets and at least one layer of fiber reinforced material. The composite box structure preferably includes a pair of endwalls, a pair of sidewalls, a floor assembly and a roof assembly.
Abstract:
A method of processing Internet-based orders. The method includes providing a portal Web site on the Internet via a Web server, the Web site hosting a plurality of businesses that accept Internet orders via a Web server; receiving a customer's general information, via a customer's communication device; generating an order record in a database; storing the customer's general information in the order record; displaying to the customer via the Web site the plurality of businesses; updating the order record with the customer's chosen business; displaying to the customer via the Web site a list of goods, services, or both that the chosen business provides to the customer; receiving the customer's order information; and processing the customer's order information.
Abstract:
Methods for separating AAV empty capsids from mixtures of AAV vector particles and AAV empty capsids are described. The methods use column chromatography techniques and provide for commercially viable levels of recombinant AAV virions.
Abstract:
A method for customer manufacturing control of a process containing trade secret formulations, comprises the following steps: associating tag descriptors to a corresponding trade secret; formulating a product as a function a selected number and quantity of the tag descriptors; transmitting the tag formulation to a manufacturing system; and decoding said tag formulation into a corresponding trade secret formulation; wherein the corresponding trade secret formulation is not accessible by the customer.
Abstract:
In a lighting power controller having a controllable switch (such as a thyristor), in order to compensate for perturbations in the mains supply waveform, the waveform is analysed and a table is set up of thyristor firing angle against output RMS voltage. To obtain a desired output RMS voltage, the thyristor is fired at the angle indicated by the table.
