摘要： An elongated rod made of a shape memory alloy composition having selected eudoelastic properties, is deformed into a dimensionally compact coil for packaged storage under stress maintained by physical constraint. Upon selective removal of the constraint allowing shape recovery, a substantial increase in axial length of the rod occurs in order to improve its performance in various installations, including long rod penetrating projectiles.

摘要： A method of producing a metal/ceramic composite structure in which an uncolidated metal or metal alloy powder is loaded into a sealable glass mold comprising a hollow ceramic sleeve and a sealable outer glass envelope surrounding the ceramic sleeve and forming with the outer wall of the ceramic sleeve a sealable chamber for the metal or metal alloy powder, wherein the glass is a type which becomes plastic when heated. The air in the mold is removed under vacuum and the mold is sealed and placed into a free flowing refractory powder in a crucible and consolidated by sintering under atmospheric pressure (CAP.RTM. process). Removal of the glass envelope leaves a composite article having a consolidated metal or metal alloy layer surrounding and placing a hollow ceramic liner (sleeve) under both radial and axial compression. A ceramic-line metal gun barrel insert can be produced by using a ceramic sleeve with rifling on its inner surface.

摘要： A method of producing a glass-lined metal pipe in which an unconsolidated tal or metal alloy powder is loaded into a sealable glass mold comprising a graphite core, a glass sleeve slipped over the graphite core with a sliding fit, a sealable outer glass envelope surrounding the graphite core and glass sleeve forming with them a sealable chamber for the metal or metal alloy powder, wherein the glass is a type which becomes plastic when heated. The air in the mold is removed under vacuum and the mold is sealed and placed into a free flowing refractory powder in a crucible and consolidated by sintering under atmospheric pressure (CAP.RTM. process). Removal of the glass envelope and the graphite core produces a glass-lined pipe in which the glass liner is slightly fused into and is under compressive force from the surrounding metal pipe.

A preferred embodiment of the present invention includes a main vessel adapted to hold a volume of a liquid such as water and an inlet conduit with an opening above the liquid level in the main vessel. The inlet conduit includes a vaporizing platform with a platform having four ventilated regions surrounding the platform.

摘要： A beverage filter cartridge for use in a single serve beverage brewing machine, the cartridge including a sleeve with a cup-shaped filter pouch containing a beverage material sealed to the inside thereof proximate to a top end. The top end includes a flange to which a cover is sealed. A bottom cover of the sleeve seals the cartridge and to prevent spoilage of the beverage material by atmospheric oxygen. The cartridge includes a filter bag with a dry beverage material. The inner surface of the sleeve has a series of vertically oriented channels which allow for the brewed beverage to flow out of the sides of the filter hag and down the channels before exiting the cartridge at the bottom. The brewed beverage can flow out of the bottom of the cartridge either via the side of the filter bag through the channels or through the bottom of the filter bag.
