Abstract:
A method is provided for navigation of a mobile device. Spatial information of at least one beacon detected in an image relative to the image is determined. The image includes an image of the at least one beacon within at least part of an environment surrounding the mobile device. A position of the mobile device based on said spatial information is determined using encoded visual information of the at least one beacon.
Abstract:
The present invention is a high capacity, non-drum magazine. The high capacity magazine comprises a broad general storage area capable of holding four staggered stacks of ammunition, a unified follower on a spring system biasing the follower and associated ammunition, a central partition a barrier separating two dual staggered round stacks and around which the follower will pass, and a transition area between the feed end of the magazine and the storage area. The spring may be a composite spring system, made of two springs joined in series, or a single, variable constant, spring.
Abstract:
Advanced lithium-air semi-fuel cell with non-aqueous electrolyte solution is provided, having higher energy density over the prior art cells, due to its protective, oxygen selective, permeable membrane of PTFE coated fiberglass cloth, placed over the cathode outer surface. Said membrane is flexible and protects the cell from moisture and evaporation of said electrolyte, which substantially minimizes parasitic losses of lithium and increases the cell efficiency and safety. The membrane may also have a layer of air-permeable adhesive added, facing said cathode.
Abstract:
A patient management system and method are provided. The method of patient management may include receiving appointment data regarding an appointment for a patient with a selected clinician at a predetermined time, inserting an appointment entry on an electronic calendar of the selected clinician, attaching patient data to the appointment entry on the electronic calendar, providing a first electronic link on the appointment entry to medical records of the patient, providing a second electronic link on the appointment entry to a map showing an address of the patient, partially pre-filling a patient visit form using the attached patient data, receiving patient visit data electronically entered by the selected clinician on the patient visit form during the appointment, and storing the patient visit data into a patient database.
Abstract:
A pressure sensing chamber having a canted tubing extension with a reduced diameter portion extending through the chamber. The tubing contains a plurality of ports so as to allow the purging of air from the chamber, but the ports are sized so that bubbles entering the tubing cannot easily flow into the chamber. The reduced diameter portion creates a pressure differential between the holes. This differential pressure creates flow through the chamber under high liquid flow and turbulent liquid flow events.

Abstract:
An electronic switch or intensity controller for a light that is activated by a detectable change of capacitance and/or infrared radiation in the detection field comprising: a CPU connected to a power supply; at least one logic level triac connected electronically to the CPU; and an occupancy sensor connected electronically to the CPU having a means for detecting the presence of objects passing within the detection field.
Abstract:
An insert or cover plate for a electronic/electrical/touch/proximity/electromechanical switch comprising a plate having an image viewing area and apertures for mounting said plate to a switch, a sense electrode positioned behind said image viewing area and an image lens positioned behind said sense electrode for detecting the presence of objects for the electronic/electrical/touch/proximity switch.
Abstract:
A surgical system that is able to sense the onset of an occlusion or other surgical event as well as when an occlusion breaks. To help avoid overheating of the tip, the system of the present invention predicts the temperature of the eye using irrigation flow rate and reduces the power to the handpiece automatically if an overheating situation is predicted. Alternatively or in addition, the system of the present invention monitors the power drawn by the handpiece, which is indicative of the cutting load on the tip, and automatically adjusts the power or stroke of the tip to compensate for increased loads on the tip.
Abstract:
A portable, atmospheric dehydrator and water condenser (110) for dehydrating fruits and vegetables while producing pure atmospheric condensation from humidity found in the air and purifying the water for dispensing and drinking purposes.
