    摘要: A process for producing a periodic structure comprises the steps of preparing a working object, the property of which changes in view of a photoreaction caused by an exciting energy, generating a light having a photonic energy of intensity of one fraction of natural number divisions of the exciting energy by each of the light sources of light-source groups arranged regularly in a two-dimensional arrangement, and concentrating the light emitted from the light source group at each of the light-concentrating points arranged at regular intervals in the working object to cause a photoreaction at and around the light-concentrating point to form a periodic structure comprised of regions each of which has a changed property in the working object.

    摘要: According to one embodiment, a disk drive has a magnetic disk and a magnetic head having a spin-torque oscillator. The disk drive further has a head amplifier IC configured to supply a write signal and a drive signal to the magnetic head. The write signal corresponds to write data. The drive signal is supplied to generate a high-frequency magnetic field. The head amplifier IC continuously supplies a drive signal of normal level to the spin-torque oscillator, and supplies a drive signal of high level higher than the normal level, only for a prescribed time after the polarity inversion of the write signal.

    摘要: The invention provides a block polymer capable of being used as a molecular wire facilitating injection of carriers between itself and an electrode, and a device in which electrodes are bridged by one molecule. The block polymer has a main chain composed of polyacetylene having a spiral structure, and includes a coating insulating block and a conductive block. The coating insulating block has a polyacetylene unit structure having alkyl chains at its side chains through functional groups, the alkyl chains being arranged in a direction parallel to the major axis of the main chain. The conductive block has a polyacetylene unit structure having hydrogen atoms at its side chains through functional groups, the hydrogen atoms being arranged in a direction parallel to the major axis of the main chain. The device has the above-mentioned block polymer, and two or more electrodes.

    摘要: An information recording/reproduction is performed as follows on a recording medium using a probe. A distance between the probe and a recording layer of the recording medium is controlled, and relative movement of the probe and the medium is effected so that the probe scans a surface of the recording layer. Recording bits corresponding to information is recorded or erased on the recording layer under a predetermined recording/erasing condition. The information is reproduced from the recording bits produced on the recording layer upon detection of a physical quantity such as a tunneling current, an electric field radiation current and the like generated between the probe and the recording layer. A characteristic/state such as an electrical characteristic, a surface state and the like of the recording layer is detected. The recording/erasing condition is corrected on the basis of the detected characteristic/state of the recording layer.
