    Abstract: A battery includes: a power generation element; a first insulation film; an electrode terminal; and a counter electrode terminal. The power generation element includes an electrode main surface, a counter electrode main surface, and a side surface. The first insulation film includes a first side surface covering portion and a first main surface covering portion. The electrode terminal includes a second side surface covering portion that covers the first side surface covering portion and an electrode contact portion that is connected with the second side surface covering portion and is joined to the electrode main surface. The counter electrode terminal is joined to the counter electrode main surface. The electrode terminal further includes a second main surface covering portion that is connected with the second side surface covering portion and covers the first main surface covering portion.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a laminated battery is a method for manufacturing a laminated battery in which a plurality of unit battery cells each having a negative-electrode layer, a positive-electrode layer are laminated, and a solid electrolyte layer located between the negative-electrode layer and the positive-electrode layer. The method includes laminating the plurality of unit battery cells and collectively compressing, in a direction of laminating, the plurality of unit cells laminated in the laminating. In the laminating, the plurality of unit battery cells are laminated in such an arrangement that two unit battery cells located at both ends in the direction of laminating are both lower in degree of compression than a unit battery cell located between the two unit battery cells.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a parallel-connected battery with both high output and high reliability. A battery according to the present disclosure includes a plurality of solid-state battery cells and a connection layer disposed between the plurality of solid-state battery cells. Each of the plurality of solid-state battery cells includes a structure in which a positive-electrode current collector, a positive-electrode active material layer, a solid electrolyte layer containing a solid electrolyte, a negative-electrode active material layer, and a negative-electrode current collector are laminated in this order. The plurality of solid-state battery cells are electrically connected in parallel, and the negative-electrode current collectors of two adjacent solid-state battery cells are laminated via the connection layer.

    Abstract: A laminated battery includes battery cells which are laminated and a current collecting lead. Each of the battery cells has a structure in which a positive electrode current collector, a positive electrode active material layer, a solid electrolyte layer, a negative electrode active material layer, and a negative electrode current collector are laminated in this order. The battery cells include first and second battery cells adjacent to each other. At least the second battery cell has a side surface inclined with respect to a laminating direction of the battery cells. The first battery cell has a surface facing the second battery cell and including an exposed surface not in contact with the second battery cell. At least part of the exposed surface overlaps at least part of the side surface of the second battery cell viewed from the laminating direction. The current collecting lead is connected to the exposed surface.

    Abstract: A varistor includes an effective layer having first and second surfaces opposite to each other, a first ineffective layer stacked on the first surface of the effective layer, a second ineffective layer stacked on the second surface of the effective layer, and an external electrode. The effective layer includes a ceramic layer having a polycrystalline structure including crystal particles exhibiting voltage nonlinear characteristics, and internal electrodes stacked alternately on the ceramic layer. The thickness of the second ineffective layer is equal to or more than 1.1 times a thickness of the first ineffective layer and equal to or smaller than 6 times the thickness of the first ineffective layer. This varistor has a small size and excellent surge resistance.
