A method for preparing cracking catalyst. The method comprises making catalyst slurry having a homogeneous distribution of molecular sieve slurry, pseudoboehmite, clay, inorganic acid and aluminum-containing binder; and subsequent spray drying. Inorganic acid is added prior to the addition of pseudoboehmite; addition of molecular sieve is added after the addition of inorganic acid; and a phosphatic dispersant is added during preparation. Compared to conventional methods of preparing FCC catalyst slurry, the inventive catalyst slurry viscosity is decreased and the fluidity thereof is improved, while catalyst anti-friction is maintained. The solid content of the FCC catalyst slurry can be increased to about 40% or more. The gel forming time is significantly reduced with increased productivity and decreased catalyst production cost. Meanwhile, the catalyst has high pore volume and improved micro-reactivity. Overall reactivity performance of the catalyst is also improved.

An array of DCT transform coefficients are converted to a two-dimensional array of spatial data in a video compression or decompression system. The array of DCT transform coefficients are divided into two groups. A regional IDCT algorithm is applied to all coefficients, both non-zero and zero, of the first group, while IDCT computation is applied to only non-zero coefficients of the second group. The results of the operations are then combined and/or mapped to form the output array of spatial data. In one specific implementation wherein an 8.times.8 array of DCT coefficients are to be transformed, the first region is defined by the first quadrant of coefficients in the 8.times.8 array. A regional IDCT algorithm is applied to both zero and non-zero coefficients in the first quadrant. The non-zero coefficients in the remaining three quadrants are calculated directly, and the results of the direct calculations are combined with the results of the regional IDCT algorithm applied to the first quadrant coefficients. The resulting values are then mapped to the output matrix.

A computer implemented tool is described that includes an assertion generator module that can automatically generate assertions, which are usable to verify application-specific security properties, for a computer software program. An assertion checker module can automatically analyze the computer software program to ensure that it satisfies the application-specific security properties. A graphical user interface module can display feedback to diagnose security flaws detected in the computer software program based on the analysis by the assertion checker module. In support of these modules are a code preprocessor module that can translate source code of the computer software program into an intermediate abstract representation, and a database module that can store the generated assertions and associated data in a database. Each of the modules can provide functionality at any time during code construction of the computer software program.

The present invention relates to a method for developing algorithms that are capable of discriminating among different genotypes and subtypes of a virus of interest. The method includes aligning a set of viral nucleotide sequences having known genotypes and analyzing the aligned sequences to identify nucleotide positions at which the nucleotide is conserved within genotypes, but diversified across the different known genotypes. These positions, referred to herein as genotyping positions, are employed as predictive variables to compile a variable input table for analysis by a statistical classification algorithm. The variable input table also includes the nucleotide present at each genotyping position as a value and the genotype for each of the aligned sequences as a response variable. The algorithm analyzes the sequences of nucleotides at the genotyping positions across the aligned viral sequences, and uses the results of this analysis to specify parameters for each genotyping position that when combined across the genotyping positions will discriminate among the genotypes represented in the input sequences. The algorithm generated by this method is useful in a method of predicting the genotype of a viral isolate of interest, such as a virus present in a biological sample obtained from an individual.

A method of measuring a modulation transfer function (MTF) includes detecting the center of a line spread function (LSF) image in order to calculate an MTF. For this purpose, an enlarged image of a portion of an image containing the LSF image is created, and binary-coded based on a threshold. A morphological operation is performed on the binary-coded image. Coordinates representing points that define the contour of the resultant image are sampled, and used to work out coordinates representing the center of a circle through Hough transform. The coordinates representing the center are transformed into coordinates representing a point in an original image.
