    Abstract: An ink set includes a reaction liquid containing coagulant; a first ink containing a color material; and a second ink containing a color material. The ink set is used for recording on a non-absorptive recording medium or a low-absorptive recording medium and for imparting the reaction liquid, the first ink, and the second ink to the recording medium in a superimposed manner in this order.

    Abstract: There is provided a treatment liquid which is used in a recording method in which recording is performed using an ink for ink jet recording containing a coloring material on a non-absorbent recording medium, the treatment liquid contains water, a coagulant coagulating components of an ink, and two or more types of organic solvents, the organic compounds do not contain the coagulant, a surfactant, and a resin, when calculating the product of a log P value and the content (% by mass) included in the treatment liquid for each of the organic compounds, the summation is equal to or less than −10, and among the organic compounds, the content of a first organic compound of which the log P value is greater than 0 is 0.1% by mass to 10% by mass with respect to the total mass of the treatment liquid.
