摘要:
An automobile air intake system is provided that channels air from outside the automobile engine compartment to the engine. The automobile air intake system according to an embodiment of the invention includes an intake enclosure coupled to a bulkhead across the front of the engine compartment. The automobile grille, radiator, and a front portion of the hood in front of the bulkhead form a flow channel to an intake port of the intake enclosure. Aspects of the invention include a screen extending from the bulkhead to the grille for inhibiting the flow of water and particles through the flow channel. Other aspects provide an alternative air path for channeling air from the engine compartment to the intake enclosure.

To adaptively switch a modulation mode according to an operation form of quality-priority and capacity-priority in a multi-value applicable radio device having an active/standby configuration. The comparison unit 28a compares a reception monitoring signal c1 of an active transmission line with a lower-limit threshold LS and an upper-limit threshold HS, while the comparison unit 28b compares a reception monitoring signal c2 of a standby transmission line with the lower-limit threshold and the upper-limit threshold. Then, they output their respective results to a determination unit 28c. The determination unit 28c has therein a low-level flag and a high-level flag that are set/reset based on comparison results in the comparison units 28a and 28b. Conditions for the set/reset are different depending on the operation form. The determination unit 28c determines a modulation mode based on comparison results in the comparison units 28a and 28b and the states of the low-level flags and high-level flags, and outputs modulation mode switching control information e1 and e2.

In a liquid crystal panel 1 provided with first and second substrates 1 and 3 bonded by a sealant 3, alignment layers 13 and 23 for covering electrodes 6A and 7A, respectively, are formed up to the regions overlapping the regions for forming up to 3. Accordingly, since there is no space between the alignment 13 or 23 and the sealant 3, a low twist domain does not occur in a liquid crystal 40. Therefore, the vicinity of the inner periphery of the sealant can also be effectively used as the region for displaying images.

In an electro-optic device 1, connection to first electrodes 40 of a first transparent substrate 10 extending in one direction from the side, to which signals are inputted, is established through electrical conduction between two substrates in a width-wise central area of the first transparent substrate using first terminals 81. To second electrodes 50 of a second transparent substrate 20 which are routed toward the outer side, signals are directly inputted from second terminals 82. The obliquely routed second electrodes 50 are formed of, e.g., an aluminum alloy film, and slit-like openings are formed in the second electrodes 50 to allow passage of light emitted from a backlight device 9.

For providing a liquid crystal device comprising a structure capable of uniformly supporting a terrace area in the liquid crystal device, a pair of insulation films 112 are formed on the terrace area 11a so as to cover a part of wiring lines 131a and 131b simultaneously with forming the insulation films 112 on electrodes 111 using the same material as the insulation film on the electrodes, and an orientation film 113 is additionally formed on the insulation films 112. The orientation film 113 is also formed on the insulation films 112 formed on the terrace area 11a, and the orientation film 113 is formed so as to expand out of the outer edge of the insulation films 112.
