The present technique relates to a reception apparatus, a reception method, a transmission apparatus, and a transmission method capable of supporting various service modes. The reception apparatus obtains first meta data including class information for providing, in multiple modes, a service identified by an IP address and transmitted by a broadcast wave of digital broadcast using an IP transmission method, and controls reproduction of a component by connecting to a stream of the component constituting the service for each of the multiple modes on the basis of the class information included in the first meta data. The present technique can be applied to, for example, a fixed receiver such as a television receiver, a mobile receiver such as a smartphone, and the like .
Abstract:
Reception processing of broadcast content, in transmission of which an IP system is employed, is performed. An SDPT, in a header extension part of which service identification information and an SDP are arranged, in an SSC is transmitted from a broadcasting station. On a reception side, it becomes possible to acquire an intended SDPT from signaling information SSC easily at high speed by performing section filtering processing with respect to a received transport stream. Then, it is possible to access a stream of an intended channel at high speed based on an IP address and a port number described in an SDP stored in a header extension part of the acquired SDPT.

Provided is a reception device, a reception method, a transmission device, and a transmission method, in which a service package unit uses one or a plurality of components and a control signal constituting a specific service among a plurality of services included in the broadcasting wave of digital broadcast by using an IP transmission mode to package in units of a service by using IP an address included in each packet, and performs a predetermined process, thereby being flexibly adaptable to various operation forms in the digital broadcast using the IP transmission mode. The present disclosure is adaptable to, for example, a television set.

Provided is a receiving device including: a receiving part that receives a broadcast signal; and a processing part that processes the broadcast signal that has been received, in which the receiving part instructs the processing part in a standby state to start on the basis of emergency alert start information included in the broadcast signal that has been received, and in a case of being instructed by the receiving part to start, the processing part controls presentation of emergency alert information on the basis of signaling including the emergency alert information acquired from the broadcast signal that has been received, and receiving setting information related to a receiving setting of the emergency alert information set by a user. The present technology can be applied to, for example, a television receiver.

The data processing section generates an emergency information viewing result report that contains a record of an identifier of emergency information output by the reception apparatus and emergency information output time information in accordance with a CDM (Consumption Data Message) format. The CDM keeps a record of not only emergency information output time information but also reception apparatus position information, emergency information sender information, and so on.
