A method is used to control a liquid crystal panel to display a character having a tilted or curved stroke. The liquid crystal panel includes a plurality of original physical pixels arranged in a matrix array. The method includes dividing each original physical pixel into three color dots of red, green and blue, and forming a plurality of display units. Each display unit includes three horizontally consecutive color dots, and at least one of the plurality of display units includes color dots from two of the original physical pixels. The method includes constructing a clear lattice diagram including the plurality of display units for displaying the tilted or bended stroke, and driving the liquid crystal panel to display the character based on the clear lattice diagram. As such, in the clear lattice diagram, at least two of the display units are vertically adjacent to each other and are horizontally offset by one or two color dots with respect to each other.

A method and system for automatic zoom adjustment is disclosed. Content is displayed on a display screen for a user. In an auto-zoom mode, a first and a second pictures are acquired. Pre-determined features are detected from the first and second pictures. A first and a second feature distances are computed based on the pre-determined features detected from the first and second pictures, respectively. The first and second feature distances relate to the user's head movement relative to the display screen. An adjustment to the zoom of the content on display is determined based on the difference between the first and the second feature distances.

The method includes detecting a position of the electronic device, and activating the power-saving mode if the detected position is determined to be one of a plurality of pre-determined power-saving positions. A system for performing the method is also provided. The system includes a detection unit for detecting the position of the mobile device, and an operational mode control unit coupled in signal communication with the detection unit. The control unit controls the mobile device to enter one of a power-saving mode and a wake-up mode based on the signals received from the detection unit.

A method for arranging 37 Mandarin Phonetic Symbols (MPS) on a keypad includes arranging the 37 symbols onto 12 keys of the keypad. With this particular arrangement, a maximum number of combinations of MPS generated by pressing three keys on the keypad is reduced from 48 to 16, making input of Chinese characters considerably faster and more convenient.
